Six Years

This was a bad idea. Not finally taking control over my own life but bringing Luan. I should’ve known this would happen. You can’t put two people with narcissistic tendencies in one room together and expect it to go smoothly. Especially when one of them hates you and the other one somehow loves you.

“Why did your parents name you Grey? I mean, with your siblings’ names, they should’ve thought of something that would’ve fit with theirs.” Technically, they should’ve just given Sun a different name to miss-match it as well, since she’s the youngest.

Grey rolls his eyes. “Grey’s a whole lot better than the alternative. Imagine they named me Star or Cloud or anything like that.”

“Milky Way has a nice ring to it.” I shrug.

This book has a good line every few chapters but everything between is just chaos.

“We’ll just write our own story then, but with a happy ending. We don’t die.”

“We will at some point in life,” I point out only to see Luan’s annoyed face again. He’s so cute when he’s trying to look mad.

“No, we won’t. We will live forever. Together. Even if it’s just in a book.”

"... if you truly believe the Devil is out to catch you, then there’s something so fucking valuable inside of you. Thieves don’t break into empty houses. You’re worth so much more than you let yourself believe. And I promise you, every single person up there on the roof loves you. You’re never going to be alone again, you’ll always have someone by your side.”

Sometimes all people need is for someone to listen. They don’t always want to be talked back to or need advice. Often times, giving them a shoulder to cry on, a safe space to lay their thoughts out in the open will be more helpful.

This book needed a professional editor. Also, I now get what people mean when they say books like those of Colleen Hoover's read quickly.

I used to think that every person who dies turns into a star, except bad people. The better people we were, the brighter our stars would shine.
