'Johnny Be Good' is the first novel I read of Paige Toon's and it has definitely left me wanting to read more! 

I took and instant liking to Meg and her bravery in uprooting her life to go work as a PA in LA to Johnny Jefferson. When it comes to her job as PA, Meg is a very strong character and really holds her own when she is faced with the crazy celebrity world. When on tour with Johnny, Meg shows a real strength in continuing to stand by Johnny through some awful experiences. Johnny is very loveable, and has that rockstar bad boy attitude which tends to have girls swooning for them. When Johnny allows himself to open up and be vulnerable with Meg you really see a different side to him and can see why Meg falls for him. Although some argue that Meg is naive, I feel that it shows that she is only human. Sometimes you just can't help who you fall for, even when you know you're going to get hurt. Paige's writing really connected with me asI felt all the emotions Meg was going through.

Paige writes her characters beautifully. You really get to know, and understand, each one of them. From the loveable, mother-figure Rosa (we all need a Rosa in our lives!), to Kitty, fellow CPA (Celebrity Personal Assistant), who helps keep Meg a little more sane in this crazy world, to the totally sweet Christian, Johnny's best friend and author of his biography, and rival for Meg's heart. The relationship between Meg and Christian is so lovely. They are so similar, have their own inside jokes, and whenever Meg needs someone Christian is always there for her. Paige's portrayal of the two relationships is brilliant - you get a real sense of the feelings and emotions connected to each one. It's the ultimate battle between the comfortable, loving, easy relationship, and the troubled, drama-enfused, passionate one.

'Johnny Be Good' is fun, sexy and heartbreaking!
