Jonathan Unleashed by Meg Rosoff

Jonathan has moved to New York City and landed an advertising job. His brother asks him to watch his two dogs, Dante and Sissy, while he is out of the country. Jonathan begins to realize that his life is lacking direction and begins to make plans...not necessarily good plans....but plans. This book has a lot of humor in it, as well as romance. It was a good read. I received a copy of this book from Amazon Vine in exchange for a honest review.

Eh. This is probably my least favorite book from First to Read so far. I was so intrigued, but the characters were extremely unlikable and it just fell flat. The dogs were by far the best part of the book, but Jonathan's constant need to over analyze their actions grew old quickly. 

I think some people will really like this book, and others will really dislike it. I managed to fall somewhere in the middle.

His girlfriend wants to marry someone just like him -- only richer and more organised with a different sense of humour...On the plus side, his two flatmates are determined to fix his life -- or possibly to destroy it altogether. It's difficult to be certain because, being dogs, they only speak dog...Poor Jonathan. He doesn't remember life being this confusing back in the good old days before everyone expected him to act like a person, but one thing he knows for sure: If he can make it in New York City, he can make it anywhere...But can he get out of advertising, meet the girl of his dreams and figure out the gender of his secret crush'..Given how it's going so far, probably not.

i’d say giving this two stars is generous. the only good parts of this book were the dogs and greeley. Yikes.
