He was bent on destroying the fae artifact linked with her life.

And the only way to do that was to kill Anova.

"Anova, my dear." Hellmyr paused as if savoring the sound of her name on the air. After a moment, a devilish grin spread across his face. "How I've been looking for you."

She should have ignored that. It was a daft question.

But there was something about him that made her lose control of her mouth. "Hostages don't normally talk unless to plead."

She needed it. She would give anything for it. She would trade the rest of the blood in her body for it. Her fingers touched the cold metal already. How right the world would be.
