I am sucker for the poetry that's written nowdays.I find it devastating and enjoyable in a way that classical poetry never seemed to me.I live for the simplity of words,for the power of saying everything with only a few words.
I decided I will read more poetry this year.I decided I will read this book we all need to read because it hits close to home.Unless you've been very lucky-I meant,the luckyest human alive-you've felt unrequited love at least once. If it wasn't a lover,it was a friend.If it wasn't a friend,maybe it was more a thing,a fact,a wish,rather than a living person.But no matter how much you've wanted it,it never want you back.I experienced all those three types of unrequited love and let me tell you-it feels the same.Just as devastating as this book was for me.
It had a slow start that made it lose a star for me,but definently a must read for those who hurt - and even for those who haven't (yet?) , to realize how lucky they are.
