Magical realism meets comedy. Even though some of its wit is lost in translation, the story retained its quirk through Oreo's narrative. The book explores classicism and goes in depth with its consequences: the thickness of quesadillas, the pride of a rich foreign family, the struggles of poverty. The satire replaces cynicism with wist and humor through Oreo's false hope for a better life, paralleled with the prayers of the homeless. Altogether, the book depicts each factor to an extreme, rendering a dramatic sequence of events.
