For Jude Deveraux fans who are curious about her contemporary writing style this is a great read. The beginning of the story is heart wrenching, but the character development as we see Lillian/Bailey pick up the pieces of her life is a great read. My only regret with this book was that the mystery wrapped up much too quickly in the end. Like other reviewers have mentioned "it left me wanting to know more". The plot is far fetched, and the romance seems a bit unvebelievable at times, but that's what I expect out of a romance. If you are new to Jude Deveraux I suggest starting out with her historical romance books. I find her writing to be much more confident.
