Julia Leigh is a virtuoso of English, and her use of simile is masterful. There isn't much to the story, plot-wise, but perhaps the title of the book suggests the true power of this work; it's filled with mood and leaves an aftertaste more like poetry than fiction.

A short, beautiful read. Disquiet reads like a film, and I'm sure it will be translated for the big screen soon. I love writing that drops in and out of characters' lives without a lot of back story. I don't feel that you need to know everything about a person in order to understand and relate to the person, and I like when characters can maintain secrets. While the book doesn't take long to read, it will certainly stick with you for a long time after the last page. I highly recommend this book and look forward to future books by Leigh.
