1. Why do they talk like that? It's irritating.

2. I somehow missed this was the 3rd book of a series??

I just did not enjoy this book. I've read worse, but this just wasn't for me. The almost lactation and blatant breeding kinks were a surprise, but again - I've read worse.

I'm sorry, but Elliot was throwing up love bomb red flags left and right, but a girl like Catherine - desperate to be wanted and loved - is exactly the type to fall for it. I get he was trying to do good and that romance books don't have to be realistic, but I'd be getting "let me buy your love" vibes if I was the FMC. "I accepted your million-dollar gift so you don't have to worry about me staying with you for your money." Okay, sure.

Also, does every wealthy MMC have to be a billionaire these days? What happened to plain old multi-millionaires? We know the evil it takes to have billions. And no security while he drives himself everywhere despite having enemies? No chefs or maids or junior assistants, etc. He does not live the life of a billionaire real estate CEO - though we really didn't get to see that side at all. And for a FMC who saw the evils her father committed in the same business and who spent her formative years building homes for the "poor and needy" [cough cough white savior vibes cough cough] in Mexico or wherever, she seems pretty forgiving of that fact. But honestly, it's not that deep, and Catherine isn't that girl. She would not care. 

And then we have Liam. I'm assuming his story is : had fun wasting the little money he had > stole from Catherine to go home when stuff got too serious > bent the knee and begged daddy to take him back > got engaged as part of his penance > married a woman under false pretenses. And our MCs KNEW what he was doing and didn't even think to... warn a girl? Like, she probably didn't care cause authors don't give side characters like her time in a story like this unless they're evil or something, but dang.

And y'all were together less than year and immediately went to insta-family, marriage, and babies? This story just frustrated me overall.

*friends who care 🤷🏾‍♀️

absolutely diabolical how fast this went from “i hate my boss!” to “we are now coparenting my infant child together and living together” but let’s be honest, i’m not reading single mom, billionaire boyfriend romances because they’re just so relatable.

I liked this book, but there were some things that could have been better.

Catherine is pregnant and is trying to live with the father of the child, even though they’re not together. He’s egotistical and selfish, so he lazes around the house she bought for them to flip while she goes to work for Elliot since they have no money. Eventually the guy leaves because he gets bored playing house, so Catherine is left to deal with everything on her own. I liked seeing how Catherine and Elliot’s relationship started, with it actually being professional at the beginning. While Elliot’s actions might be unrealistic, I liked seeing him help Catherine when he finds out more about her situation.

I liked Catherine and Elliot. There were some misunderstandings/conflicts along the way, but they were small, and the characters talked things out quite quickly.

I haven’t read the previous books in this series, but I liked how those characters were shown in this book, even though I wanted to see more of them.

I didn’t like how the issues with Catherine’s parents and Liam were shown. Liam was awful in his carefree behaviour and yet it seems like he was living a good life, which I’m not sure that he deserved since no one knows about what he did. I wanted to see what the conversation with Catherine’s parents looked like and how they went about having a relationship again.

I liked this book, and I’m not sure if I’ll go back to read the previous books in this series, but I definitely want to read Miles’ story.
