Julia Garwood has always been one of my favorite authors. As I'm rereading this series - I realize why I fell in love with her in the first place. Even though I've read Killjoy a hundred and one times, I've only read Murder List once before this - and it was still good. I like the development of the romantic relationship, because it didn't happen overnight. I liked the villain and the little twist towards the end that I didn't see coming lol despite having read the book before.

I fell in love with Julie Garwood back when she was writing nothing but historical romances. They all had abrupt, awkward starts. She's gotten better, but that's still a problem. This book is part of the series featuring the Buchanan brothers (and friends). I'm pretty sure they'll all be married off soon, but I've lost track. In this one, the heroine Regan, has two best friends, Cordelia and Sophie, and I'm sure we'll see them real soon in upcoming books. I understand that it makes an author's life easier not to have to make up entire backgrounds and families from scratch, but these types of series with 7 brothers and endless friends really get old for me. I think I'll go back and re-read one of her early hilarious medieval tales.
