Okay so, I love this series, but this definitely was the book I liked less. I like Livvy and Gareth and loved their banter in the beginning and, obviously, we finally get to know more about the Grim race. 

However, this was too insta-love for me. I get that, these books being about supernatural beings and they having mates and all that jazz, the insta love part would make sense. But I still felt like they both, although Gareth mainly, went from hate to I'm in love with you way too fast. 
Some of the stuff Gareth was saying in his head about Lavinia was like, waaaay too much for me when we're only at like 30% of the book. And some of their dialogue was so lame that I literally would cringe.

The writing was also, at least for me, not on par with the other books I've read in this series. I really hope this will not happen in the Jules and Ruben book because I've been waiting for their story since I've started this series.

In the end, while I do think this book probably deserves less than the rating I'm giving it, I love the characters so much and still had so much fun reading this story, that I'm going to settle for 3.5 stars

This whole series has been fun and a little steamy and this continues in that vain. 

I found some parts with the supernatural political system a bit boring but I understand the world that is being built and set up for the other books. 

Overall I really enjoyed the romance of Livvy and Gareth. There is a decent amount of trauma worked through and some questionable situations. I love how they complimented each other. 

Overall I enjoyed seeing all the other characters/ couples again and this was a fun story. I liked their relationship’s progression and I sure do love love.

Holy Smokes...Who knew that Gareth had ALL that under that starched facade????

Gareth is a Grim with secrets.  They're known to have a way with technology but Gareth's powers seem to have added oomph.  He may know exactly who/what Livvy is to him but that doesn't mean he wants to drag her into his world.  To do that he's going to have to come clean about everything...including his "monster".

Lavinia aka Livvy is kindness personified.  She loves equitably but she does seem to favour those that don't make demands on her.  Well when she and Gareth have to team up with the 3rd finalist for a job with Garrison Media, she learns that Gareth has a whole slew of demands that he wants her to meet - not all of them to do with the job!

One of the Grim talents is to sniff out evil and Gareth can follow that stench all the way to one particular male at Garrison Corp.  But will he be able to gather evidence to prove his instincts or will he unleash his beast when Livvy is made a target?

Gareth is all that and a bag crisps!  He hides his inner dom well LOL.  Livvy may be used to being in charge but Gareth wants everything from her, including her submission.  The sparks between them are incendiary.  I loved how Livvy just accepted Gareth and his "monster", there was no real angst between them other than the rivalry for the job - all the danger came from outside of their relationship.

Werewolf wet tshirt contests - absolute genius idea and wish they were an actual thing!

Uncle Blackwater is a piece of work!  Clara and Henry are so obviously into each other so I'm now on tenterhooks to see what makes them finally admit it!
