Juliette Cross has done true wonders with this story and I loved every single moment of this story. I just love her writing style and the way that she wrote "Wolf Gone Wild" is simply divine. This book is the start of a new series and I can tell you from what we got from this book I am going to love future books. This is a story that is SO unique even in the paranormal romance genre, I have never quite read a story like this one, and more specifically .....a hero with such unique dynamics.

Our delightful story begins when our hero, Mateo Cruz, is in a tight bind and needs some magical aid. Mateo is a loner werewolf, but there is a hex put on him which has prevented him from shifting for over three months, and his wolf's presence is even stronger than ever in his mind, and he knows he needs to find someone to help free him or he knows that he will go insane from his new dilemma. Mateo goes into seeking the help of a powerful witch who is talented in breaking magical hexes....Evie Savoie. Evie never expected to be drawn to Mateo or feel the desperate need to help Mateo. Even though her sisters don't want her involved with a wolf, she can't resist,. There is something more to Mateo and she sees his inner struggle and the compassionate side of her can't resist in reaching out. But as Mateo and Evie work together, their slow friendship burns into something more brighter and lasting than either of them expected...

Wolf Gone Wild was such a fantastic read and I just had such a blast with this book. I have recently become hooked on Juliette Cross, and this book is evidence of her true talent especially in writing such compelling characters especially our gorgeous Mateo who has quite a struggle. And boy did I love his wolf "Alpha" his monologue was so hilarious and entertaining, I never could get enough of it. Our hero is full of complexities which I always gravitate towards in my characters especially the hero. It just doesn't happen too often, and Cross really did a delightful job in building up his character in just the perfect way.
"I wish you’d lose control of your dick, because my balls are so blue you could sprinkle glitter on them and hang ’em on a Christmas tree."
Our heroine is just as delightful and full of her own complexities. Evie has talent as a witch and gifts in magic and working with her sisters in their coven and helping others. Evie is a nerd though and boy did I love that. This side of her is one that I really related with in some ways and seeing the way that Mateo just supported her was so beautiful. Their dynamics were so unique in this book, definitely not your typical pairing in a paranormal world that is for sure. But then I have noticed this in other books I have read from this author so not shocked at all, and I simple had such a blast in seeing their unique relationship develop throughout the story which synchronized perfectly with the plot developments of the villain of the story who put the hex on Mateo in the first place.
"Mateo was the key. Alpha was the welcome mat. And I was loving the heck out of walking through this door, pushing my werewolf over the edge. I wanted us to go together."
From beginning to end this story held me captive in the beautiful intricate designs of storyline, delightful sensual delights and the right touch of humor to endear the reader.....AN ENCHANTING SPELL OF A READ!!

This was a fantastic read. It's hilarious, mysterious, and steamy. I loved how the relationship developed from forbidden to friends to lovers. Mateo and Alpha are a hilarious duo, and Evie is so adorkable. The pop culture references were great, and the atmosphere was top notch. It helps that the author is from near the area she writes about (she's cajun I believe). New Orleans is such a fun setting for paranormal books, and I really loved the atmosphere of this one. This is such an easy, fun read. It definitely helped to get me out of a weird funk (I was binging ruby dixon books). Also, this is the perfect September read to get me ready for the spooky season. I would 100% recommend this series. Also, the author does a cool podcast with her niece Jessen (smartwomenreadromance) (Jessen is one of my fave booktubers. I would recommend her channel: Jessen reads romance). I'm glad to have finally read a book from this author, and would love to continue the series.

This was so cute! I loved getting to know Evie, her sisters and their dynamic. The fantasy aspect was also very wholesome, each of the sisters are witches with different powers and I enjoyed understanding what they can do.
Mateo was also a cutie, even with Alpha constantly being in his head (ok but calling a wolf alpha, really??). I really liked their romance, and I did not see the ending coming!
Also, the spice? Top notch.

I cannot wait for Jules and Ruben's story by the way, they had me intrigued.

Juliette Cross has always been a fan favorite of mine when it comes to kick ass heroines who really knows how to pack a punch and worse than sin lead heroes who are nonetheless pantying dropping hot. So obviously when she released "Wolf Gone Wild", I couldn't wait to get my grubby little hands on it to further immerse myself in the supernatural world she was able to create filled with witches, werewolves and vampires. 

If you haven't already know, the story starts off with Mateo seeking out the infamous witch Evie, pleading with her to help him get rid of a hex that prevents him shifting from man to wolf. The novel then transitions to the generic format of a whirlwind romance filled with fine ass sexual tension, oozing chemistry and a dynamic duo that you can't help but root for.

After completing the novel, it took me a bit of time to access then process the read and eureka! I was finally able to sum it all up into one simple word: decent. Yes, just decent people. What more can I say? There was absolutely no wow factor but, a big but there. I didn't completely hate it. Please don't kill me JC, I felt like this was a big fat, "it's not you, it's me" type of read for the reason it's really just me I swear because I can totally see how this could be a win for most readers. In my opinion, it could've been better and I'm downright shocked that I didn't absolutely love this since I typically do with anything the author spits out. I just couldn't form a real connection with storyline nor characters despite liking less than a handful of them.

Besides the semi mediocre plot, I will admit one of the plus sides of the read was the dashing lead Mateo and his hilarious and let's be real, down right dirty inner wolf, Alpha. Hey I like a man that knows what he wants *wink wink*. But…. And yes there's another but being thrown in, I wasn't exactly a mega fan of Evie. Eh, I could've done without her to be honest and would have more than happy to have the focus primarily on Mateo and Alpha. Sure she was optimistic, good at heart, willing to help anyone in need and holds other good attributes― a part of me kinda sorta hope she be more… mature so to speak. I don't know but I'm guessing it's maybe because I was so spoiled by the previous heroines that were so badass in the author's other works that this heroine just fell short for me. Nevertheless, me not liking her entirely didn't ruin my reading experience and I hope the next installment would be more up my alley.

So without further ado, this was still a fairly enjoyable and decent read that I will recommend to readers that are fans of the supernatural genre who are looking for a side piece of scorching hot, panty dropping and hot tempered werewolves and relatable, down to earth witches that help keep them at bay. It's definitely a novel worth checking out.

Werewolves, Witches, & Vampires, Oh My! This was my first read from Juliette and it won't be my last. This story had everything I could ask for. I am such a sucker for a werewolf romance and then you add witches and i'm 100% sold. This story begins with Mateo, a metal sculpture artist and werewolf. Mateo learns a hex has been put on him, preventing him from shifting and doesn't know who did it. Now if you can imagine, that would be the ultimate struggle for a werewolf come the full moon. This leads to him seeking out the local witch coven where he meets Evie, a witch who specializes in hex breaking. Due to past bad blood between werewolves and witches, the witches don't associate with them, but in walks tall, dark, and handsome Mateo in his most vulnerable state needing her help. Does she break the rules and help out this wolf in need?

 I loved the friends to lovers relationship, the bond between Evie and her sisters, and being in New Orleans. And can I just mention I have much appreciation for all of the Star Wars and Marvel references? It made me feel like I could relate to Evie and I just wanted her to be my best friend. The romance was on fire! The sexual tension between Evie and Mateo was hot and I just love the chemistry between them. Now I was a little on the fence about Mateo and his inner wolf "Alpha". Alpha has his own dialog in Mateo's head and it's very comical. However, It still added to the story and I actually like the idea of Alpha being apart of Mateo but his animalistic side and almost like he was his own entity. Overall, This was such a fun fast read and that ending! I want the next book in the series now! 5/5 witchy stars!

What a pretty cover, and the blurb caught my eye immediately. A wolf who can’t shift? A witch who could possibly break the curse? That sounded like some great forced-proximity goodness, and indeed it is, all packaged up in a sort of light paranormal rom-com! Also, there’s a zombie cat.

Evie is nerdy, loves comics and especially Star Wars, and has a heart bigger than New Orleans. Which certainly causes problems for her, especially when Mateo, a werewolf, comes to her family needing help breaking a curse that’s preventing him from shifting. All of the Savoie sisters are witches with different specialties, and Evie’s a hex-breaker. While the initial attempt to break the hex fails, Mateo realizes that just being around Evie makes Alpha calmer, so he bargains with her to spend a few hours a day with him. Well, we can all see where this is going, right?

“I don’t see how that’s a problem. To be trustful and kind isn’t a defect, Evie. It’s rather wonderful really.”

Evie’s such a sweet person, and I loved how geeky she was. She helps out at the family store and waitresses at a bar, but dreams of drawing comics. Her artistic endeavors were denigrated as childish by a previous boyfriend, so she’s reluctant to share them with anyone, especially Mateo, who works as a sculptor. Mateo was just about as sweet as Evie, and despite having zero idea about any of Evie’s fandoms, dives into them wholeheartedly, leading up to a particularly sweet Star Wars-themed date. Alpha, his wolf, however, was the absolute definition of an alphahole, one missed turn signal away from violence or screwing someone. For the most part, I found his comments hilarious, though it did veer into overkill a few times. Since the book’s told from both main character’s first-person POVs, it’s easy to get a good sense of each character, and it also added to the great sexual tension. Despite their obvious chemistry, Mateo’s reluctant to start anything with Evie until he has better control of his wolf, which leads to a lot of arguing back and forth with Alpha and definitely ups the tension.

“You think I can’t handle the big bad wolf?”

In terms of pacing, I loved the first few chapters and the last chapters, but found the middle slow. The building of Evie and Mateo’s romantic arc was great, but it felt like the plot thread about figuring out Mateo’s hex was completely backburnered. I would’ve preferred a more entwined story where both arcs were given equal time. The good thing about the focus being so much on the romance is that it keeps the storyline light and funny for the most part, so if you’re looking for a not-very-angsty paranormal, this would definitely fit the bill.

Overall, I’d give this around 3.5 stars, rounded up to four. There’s some definite sequel bait going on with Evie’s sisters, and II’ll definitely be watching for the next book!

This was SO FUN! 🙌🏻 I smiled so hard while reading and also laughed A LOT 😂 We follow Mateo (a werewolf and artist) and Evie (a witch and curse breaker) when their paths cross and begin to inevitably intertwine as Mateo desperately seeks help with his inner wolf and a dark, mysterious plot begins to unravel.

I really had so much fun reading this! Evie is such a relatable character. Her struggles with fear of failure and going after her dreams is something I can absolutely sympathize and identify with. I love her so much. And, um, Alpha is HILARIOUS. I started cackling on page one, thank you very much. And oddly enough, Evie’s love of all things nerdy and quirky when it comes to movies and Mateo being utterly clueless about it all is me and my husband 😂

This would be the perfect fall time read/series, too! I can't wait to start Issy and Dev's story.

4 stars ⭐️ This was adorable! Tbh I wasn’t sure if I’d like it as I DNF’d another book by this author a few years ago. But this was surprisingly wholesome and cute! Urban fantasy meets rom com vibes, with some really sexy spice. Looooved the dual POV, Mateo’s inner wolf/himself speech and the entire witch family! I can’t wait to read more about Evie’s sisters and the other characters. I think this one had a bit too many pop culture references but it did revolve a lot around Evie’s hobbies so I get that. Excited for the next one ☺️

Really enjoyable. I liked how the relationship built up between the h/H--could see why they liked each other and the tension was there. Also, I liked how they each brought out the best in each other. Alpha is hilarious. The sister dynamic is great. Got a good feel of almost all the sisters. Will definitely continue the series. The audio was a great way to read it.

           Wolf Gone Wild was the exact pick me up that I needed. It was an easy, steamy read with lovable characters. 

First let's give kudos to the author Juliette. The catchy names of the titles are right up my alley. It's like she said, what would Lisa love? Oh I know... this Stay a Spell paranormal romance series. I'm a sucker for those. 

Six witch sisters... what!?!? My mind never knew this was that I needed. This is coming from the girl who read twitches in record time and has seen every episode of Charmed at least twice if not more. Juliette does a great job of giving each "present" character a signature character trait. I'm interested to learn more about Isadora (who is next) and Lizzy. However I hardcore stan Jules (Rueben- swoon) and Violet (Nico-hell yes)! Also I read somewhere that Clara gets with the grim eeek, exciting! *sorry for the spoiler*. 

Evie: is a girl after my own heart... Pop culture nerd who loves comics! Her personality shined in that she was a different type of strong. She was unaware of her strength as a witch and as a sister but not in the typical meek way. The most touching moment was when her mother advised her that she was the strongest hex breaker in North America. 

Mateo/Alpha: the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. A man with a big heart and intuitive spirit. housing a protective and dominant beast. 

In addition to the character, I absolutely loved the story telling and the vivid imagery that went into this book. New Orleans is a favorite vacation spot of mine due to is rich culture. The idea of the supernatural residing in the city is very on brand and fits this story so well. I am also a lover of the greek mythology so I can appreciate references to sculpture references to Medusa. I liked the sense of community shared amongst the paranormal community and the opulence and aristocratic ways.

Southern Today Gone Tomorrow

Written by Juliette Cross, Wolf Gone Wild is a paranormal romance that follows Mateo, a werewolf who has been cursed and now can’t shift, and Evie, the witch who might just be able to lift the curse and has captured his heart.

Uh, that was a little too gooey when I was writing it.

If you are looking for a sweet ADULT romance, and you want something that has a werewolf in it, this is a good choice. The writing is decent, but don’t be fooled by the cover as this is very much in line with the Cozy style of writing. Good for a read on the beach, but this isn’t super advanced prose, and a lot of the secondary characters get a bit of surface treatment to them. I’m guessing the next books in the series are going to be about the sisters and the romantic (potential) interests that were introduced in this novel.
 
From the get go, there really isn’t any question about Mateo and Evie getting together, but the way the curse works and who put it there is very interesting and, really I went for the red haring and didn’t realize that there even was another option. And I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not. Really wanted more information so that it didn’t feel so out of nowhere. But the twist itself was really good.
 
If you are looking for an action packed good time, keep looking, but if you want a sweet ADULT romance, give this a go.
