This was exactly the light fantasy read i needed!!! ajkjqhkjcn i just love the character dynamic between Vanitas and Néo i can't wait to read more. I might even purchase the physical copies of this manga.

Yet another thoroughly enjoyable entry in this series! There's a lot more plot and background story revealed, yet much more to-be-revealed and I cannot wait to discover that all ^^ It'll be straight on to the next volume!

I don’t know why it took me so long to finish this one, as I absolutely love the characters of Noé and Vanitas, the art style and the way vampires play a role in this story. Once I did get back into it, I finished it in a breeze and I’m excited to continue with the rest of the series when I can!

The Beast of Gévaudan incident is at an end, and its melody of revenge has turned into blossoms and scattered. What changes have visited themselves upon Vanitas and the others in the world beyond the snow...? The moment of choice is at hand. Let the shape it takes align with the feelings they can't concede.

i am massively enjoying this story. i have been missing a vampire story that fully embraces its associated tropes and this does so excellently. i love the dynamics between the characters defined by the inherent sexiness of drinking (or wanting to) your homies' blood.

mochizuki's artwork is also appropriately stunning. it may seem redundant to state this but she has a very good eye for what panels are show-stoppers and a very good sense of where to use detail and where to spare it, of composition and design. this makes the series even more of a pleasure of a read.

not to get sniped for this but... listen, i know pandora hearts was compared to d. gray-man back in the day because of the setting. i even couldn't finish the former because i already loved the latter so much that it was difficult for me to be entertained reading both at the same time. 

so believe me when i say that this reminds me even more of dgm but with vampires, i truly mean it as a compliment. it is atmospheric, it is a fun, and i have truly regressed to 2011-2012 me.

Now installed at a hotel in Paris with the help of Count Orlok, Noé and Vanitas take their awkward partnership on the road...to a vampire masquerade ball! The order of the evening may be small talk and hobnobbing with fellow guests, but the mystery of the curse-bearers is never too far behind. The intrigue swirls as quickly as the dancers twirl, a blue moon ascends upon the guests...and all hell breaks loose!

Jun Mochizuki's artwork is simply stunning! I loved getting a bit more insight into Noé as a character and am only getting more hyped to binge all the available volumes ^^ I really liked the take on vampires that the author takes and the slight lift of the veil over Vanitas' past was also very nice. I'm invested in these characters and in their quest, and can't wait to see where it takes them next!

I thoroughly enjoyed this first volume, the artwork is gorgeous, the cast quite interesting and the lore very promising. A good vampire story is my weakness, and vampires combined with 19th century steampunk Paris seems to have all the ingredients to turn this series into one of my favourites. Although it's too early to really form an opinion, I'm really excited to start the next volume!
