New Trends in Energy-Economy-Environment System

The nexus of Energy, Economy, and Environment (3E) systems is of great importance in the global development scenario. In the past decades, the problems related to 3E have been studied and evaluated by numerous researchers and practitioners. The endorsements of the world of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations Development Organization indicated that the triple helix is more present today than ever before. Ensuring affordable and clean energy is the seventh goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in which environmental metrics (such as carbon dioxide emissions and use of water resources) are important drivers. The evolution of the objectives in the SDGs during past decades promotes global members to adopt a holistic and integrated vision while figuring out how to improve and stabilize the economic situation under the restrictions of the natural environment and exhaustible resources.
