Just Be Her

Just Be Her

Kaydence Snow2019
I'm living someone else's life. It was supposed to be an escape, a break from the painful memories and crushing responsibility keeping me awake at night. Fate brought me face-to-face with the chance of a lifetime - the chance to be her. Just for a little while. Just for a taste of another life. We may have looked identical, but everything else about us couldn't be more different. It was supposed to be easy and fun. No one had to know. But gradually, I lost the line between who she was and who I wanted to be. I never imagined I'd fall in love. How was I supposed to go back to my old life when I felt like I belonged in hers?

Toni is living an easy life as a bartender; hooking up with whoever she wants, and keeping everyone at arm's length. Then one night she meets her body double in an ally outside the bar, and everything changes. Alexandria Zamorano offers her a large amount of cash to switch places for a month. She's about to marry a man she's never even met to save her family's legacy, and the pressure is killing her. A simple month of freedom is what she needs before she's locked into a deal she never wanted to make. Sounds easy enough. Just pretend to be each other for a month. No one will know the difference. But when Toni starts to fall for Alex's fiancé, and Alex finds herself falling for two of the men in Toni's life, things get complicated... So I really enjoyed this one! It gave me all the vibes of the classic switching lives trope, but in a fun and sexy way. I liked the relationships in this book, and not just the romance. Toni and Alex growing into a friendship was so great to see. I loved all three of the guys too. And how Toni realized that even though she feels like no one pays attention to her or really knows her, they definitely do. And seeing Alex and Toni work through their biases and ideas about each other and their lives. It was all good. Plus, the steam is great too. I think this was a fun and easy read, and I definitely want to read more from this author now! I definitely recommend it!
