This is the last book sort of for the Did I mention I love you series. This forth book is from Tyler’s POV while the DIMILY, “Did I mention I ...” books are read from Edens POV so it’s not a necessary book but it’s so good. 
As you all probably know by know is that I love a book with characters that doesn’t have the most happily childhood / background. When I read the DIMILY books and I found out that Tyler did not have the most glorious background I immediately wished for a story in his POV and bam! It later on was. This book has a really interesting build up. We start with a scene from his past to get into the feeling of what this book might bring, and then the next chapter starts out just as the first DIMILY book was, except now it’s in a different view. And then back and forth it goes between the chapters. So you can get a feeling and understanding between each “ real time “ chapters. It’s so beautiful and heartbreaking and addicting. You just won’t be able to put the books down. I totally recommend that you read the original DIMILY books first tho. So you can really get a feel in how it all started.

           I read this entire book in four hours. I was up until 1:30am and it was worth it. I knew going in that this book would deal with Tyler’s past, but I didn’t expect it to explain so much of his backstory. I didn’t know that every other chapter we’d be back to this painful and horrible part of his life. In each of the five years earlier chapters my heart hurt that this little boy that I’ve come to love throughout the series had to go through this. I hated reading that part but I needed to because it explained Tyler. Not just the physical abuse but the emotional scars it left behind. In the present chapters, I understand the first few times Eden and Tyler interact. It makes a lot more sense. It’s awesome to see their first meeting from his perspective. I hate Tiffani even more after reading this. She really doesn’t even care about Tyler and that’s just sad that she would do all of this for her reputation. Seeing how Tyler really felt about Eden in those chapters like the scene at the stairs, the fireworks scene, the pier scene, the part where they were locked in the bathroom, etc was so awesome. I know that Eden cares about him, but we get to see that he really does love her even in the first book. The ending made me sad even though I knew what was going to happen. I just want him to be ok, and the one person who can help him to be ok and who understands him walks away. The last couple sentences had my in tears. 

“I’m sorry that I let her down. I’m sorry that I’ve made so many mistakes. I’m sorry that I couldn’t be enough for Eden. I’m sorry for everything. And in that moment, I make a single promise to myself. To my friends. To my brothers. To Mom. To Eden. I promise I am going to do better.”
