Once I started this book I didn’t want it to end! Reminded me of all my dads advice he tried to give us kids growing up. It was a good laugh.

Ok. I went in this with the WORST expectations. Because it's stupid. Because the show was stupid as FUCK. And the twitter account that started all of this to become a book? I never followed that account.

So. This stupid thing started with a dude who broke up with his girl, and that left him homeless and sad, that led to him moving back in with his parents. Boo Hoo.

But that dude's father. Oh man.. I first was like reading the start and whenever his dad was talking to him saying funny shit, I'd do the exhale-from-nose laugh. Not much, but meh I was kinda liking the dad.

I got the gist of how the book was gonna continue, dude shares an experience he had since he was little with his dad and at the end of that experience/chapter/whatever he had a bunch of dad's opinions about random stuff.

After the first 2 chapters if you like, I thought it was funny but not something to be hilarious or something. Of course it is NOT a serious book or whatever so it was a 2 star rated book.

But then halfway through I caught myself laughing out loud with the stupidity and the way his dad was taking things every time something was happening.

And I gotta say, I don't even care if half the stuff in there were made up. Either THIS dude is funny, or his dad is. I care about having a good time reading the book. Didn't even expect that, so that's cool. Also Justin Halpern KNOWS how to write/talk.

If you wanna laugh, go ahead and read it. Casual reading and no matter what, you will definitely laugh at least at half of the moments in there. (unless you're an asshole)

Thanks shitloads for making me laugh out loud so hard I had stomach aches for days, by myself, like a creep. It seldom happens and it was very well needed.

The worldwide Twitter sensation: a brilliant new comic voice, and a 100% real father-son relationship that makes Steptoe and Son look healthy... At 28 years old, I found myself living at home, with my 73-year-old father. As a child, my father never minced words, and when I screwed up, he had a way of cutting right through the bullshit and pointing out exactly why I was being an idiot. When I moved back in I was still, for the most part, an idiot. But this time, I was smart enough to write down all the things he said to me...Meet Justin Halpern and his dad. Over one million people follow Mr Halpern's philosophical musings every day on Twitter, and in this book, his son weaves a brilliantly funny, touching coming-of-age memoir around the best of his sayings. What emerges is a chaotic, hilarious, true portrait of a father and son relationship from a major new comic voice. As Justin says at one point, his dad is "like Socrates, but angrier, and with worse hair"; and this is the sort of shit he says... "You know, sometimes it's nice having you around. But now ain't one of those times. Now gimmie the remote, we're not watching this bullshit." "Happy Birthday, I didn't get you a present... Oh, mom got you one? Well, that's from me then, too unless it's shitty."
