La Casa de Bernarda Alba

It's girl rage on it's core. You'd think that it could only be achieved by being a Lana or a Marina fan- but Lorca, who was kind of just a girl himself, has mastered this genre.

Was very easy to understand and has an intresting ending, i also like that the women are depicted in strong roles and that there are basically no males and some of them fight for what they want

i really liked it, omg. best characters were obviously all the women in the play (especially the bride) but special mention to the moon for personifying the relentless hunter of truth beautifully. as always, i'm a sucker for 1) tragedies 2) imageries with fire & sharp objects 3) themes of defying fate.

So very reminiscent of Riders to the Sea, needless to say, Synge's play had had a stronger effect on me.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION From old to modern, combining myth and legend, this play written in prose and verse, is Federico Garca Lorca's most crude tragedy, a reflection on life, death, and the only energy strong enough to overcome it: love. Written in 1932, Blood Wedding is based on real events which occurred in Almeria in 1928. It all began with a wedding to which the bride did not show up. Shortly after, her cousin's corpse was found and very close to it, was the bride with a torn dress. Lorca, surprised by how life gives us new dramas and unexpected twists, weaves a work in which he brings together passions that make us humans: from love to suffering, vengeance, fear, and hate, among others.
