Hood River Rat

Hood River Rat is the first book in the "Hood River Hoodlums" series. And it took a while to actually get to this book but I am so happy that I was able to get to it finally. I have been wanting to read more K. Webster, she literally hasn't written a bad book in my opinion.

Hood River Rat is a bully romance and it features some MM elements to it, and also "Gay only for you" type of theme to the relationship. I found their connection so interesting. And I do think that this is one of the better bully romances out there, but I do think the MM aspect made the bully aspect a little bit more intense at times. Because boys bullying to other boys is different than an MF type of pairing and this was the first time that I had read an element of a MM bully romance and it really worked for me in certain ways. This story though had me in ALL of my feels. It was so intense in so many ways, and I was just so hooked especially in the second half. K. Webster really ups the ante of intensity and plot driven details in the second half. The first half is a bit more slow burn focused and more relationship and character driven.

The dynamic of it that was so fascinating and really pulled me in was the aspect of Roan and his home situation. Man, my heart just broke for him and what they went through and the ending man MY HEART!!! I need to read the second book so badly now. Because Jordy and the sister get together and I need that like NOW LOL

Overall I fell head over heels in love with Hood River Rat and can't wait for more Hoodlum books.

“Hood River Rat,” by K Webster is an MM romance in the Hood River Series. It is a standalone, and is best read starting with this story, as they are all interconnected. It is a bully, enemies to lovers romance. They both have their hackles up for different reasons, but find common ground all because of a single connection. It brings them together as two people jus trying to get by; to seeing things change, simply because they are sharing bits and pieces of their lives with one another. It creates a bond so deep, that I didn’t know where one started and the other ended. It was beautifully broken and heart wrenching at the same time. I loved Rone and Hollis and am looking forward to continuing the rest of the series.
