Holy angst! This was my first book by K Webster and I’m so glad that I went for it! I started listening on audible (Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan are FANTASTIC!) and then became so hooked I continued reading through the night. The longing Penn has for Cope is written so strongly it’s palpable. Every time I read they locked eyes by heart stopped and my breath hitched. Every time they touched or a barb was thrown I tensed thinking are they gonna give in?! Normally I am not one to read high school romance, but I don’t think you could fully understand how deep their love for one another runs unless it started there. Much more than simply attraction the relationship, bond and really life, that Penn and Cope have gave them such a sturdy foundation that they were able to weather the storm. That’s what this story is about. Not the fact that it’s just two boys/men falling in love, it’s two people falling in love. Point Blank. Two souls irrevocably intertwined forever. Penn may recognize what’s happening before Cope but Cope is no idiot. Part of his struggle is coming to terms with things not being what he thought they were... coming of age to an extent. The back and forth between his inner self was real and raw. The dirty talk is ON FIRE. Two alphas, head to head, full of taunting games. The chemistry is electric, once they give in it’s game on and it’s hot as hell. The jock and the bad boy. The best friends. I loved every second of this story.

I’m not sure why goodreads love to play with me & my review but here it is AGAIN. ______________________________________________ This is a story about 2 bestfriends who haven't spoken for 2 years bc one of them (Penn) kisses the other (Cope). Their story picks up at a party where Penn gets drunk and ends up in a fight which Cope saves him from after he broke his hand. This book captivated me from the very beginning. I was listening to it on audible while eyeball reading and I'm sure because it was Jacob Morgan & Teddy Hamilton made it 10x better. The bestfriends to enemies to lovers trope is slowly starting to become my fav combo. The angst, ache, longing, lust & love was written so perfectly in this book. We get to see some flashes of how they grew up and what strengthened their bond. They both have overbearing and judgmental fathers who are rivals and thev live next door to each other. Penne father is abusive, physically and mentally while Copes could care less if he even breathed. My heart hurt for them both but I loved how they leaned on each other for strength it was gut wrenching. Penn & Copes story also touched on some sensitive topics surrounding acceptance & coming out while dealing with your family and societal judgments. I loved every minute of this book and I loved both of our main characters & the side characters. Penn & Cope just fit. Cope was so strong & protective of him & Penn was so loving and patient with him. Ugh just obsessed. The steam & spice here was to die for. I loved this book. Please read it ATW: abuse, mental & physical.

4.5 stars. I listened to this bad boy on the plane because one of the narrators is Jacob Morgan (love of my life) and it did not disappoint! This was angsty, emotional, and very very hot. This follows Penn and Copeland, who are next door neighbors and were best friends until one drunken night two years ago. Penn is gay and in love with Copeland, and that night he tried to kiss Cope—who did not take too kindly to it and they’ve been on the outs (with Penn pining for Cope) for two years. They’re brought back together at a house party and are able to pick up where they left off—but this time Cope offers to help Penn figure out what he wants by giving him some hands on experience. And I mean that literally. I think K Webster did an excellent job of capturing the turmoil both main characters were facing—especially Copeland. Having thought of himself as straight his whole life, his world tilts on its axis when he realizes he actually has real romantic feelings for his best friend. The depth of their bond is tangible, and I was really rooting for these two to work things out. Spice was hot, plot was great, highly recommend!

This is my first time reading a b&b book and I loved it. I would rate the book 4,5/5 because I feel like the main characters accepted too fast that they were gay. As a person who just finds out that is gay, you are not happy and stuff. You have to take a moment to think about it. Above that, everything was super cute. Spicy too. It's a quick and easy read. I really recommend you this <3

3.5 stars. i was surprised to find out that this was nothing like k webster's previous books. she's very well-known for her dark romances, and while this one discusses some dark topics, it's clear this was webster's tiptoeing into the lighter waters of new adult. wicked lies boys tell is a story about two best friends who become estranged and later enemies after something happens between them and how one day, they are finally able to reconnect. the characters were the softest best friends you could think of, but i wish we could have gotten a bit more of a plotline mixed in with all the smut.

I love reading M/M books and if it’s kind of enemies-to-lovers sign me up every time. This was a good book, I loved Penn and Cope and how they went from friends to enemies to lovers. They were friends since they were kids so it was nice reading their interactions up to the moment where they realize there’s more between them. I liked everything but their relationships with their fathers, both were crazy but I’m glad everything kind of worked out at the end.

“We’re Penn and Cope,” I tell him, with a peck to his lips. Best fucking friends. Like always. Two tornadoes. But instead of bouncing off each other and wreaking havoc alongside the other, we’ve become one. Unstoppable.” “Wicked Lies Boys Tell” is a standalone MM friends-enemies-lovers romance by Author K Webster. Penn and Copeland were best friends. Neighbors. Inseparable. This story surrounded them and how their friendship turned more - but it was one sided and not reciprocated. Through a moment of chance , they are brought into each other’s lives again and sparks fly. They realize that they aren’t whole without the other. There are hidden moments, angst, and just so much heartache for the love that they fight for. It was beautifully written, and it made my heart soar for them.
