Okay, first things first, I enjoyed it and do not, by any means, regret reading this book.

This book is so hard to rate, because it still did not felt like finished book - it felt more like the first edit. There were spots in the book that just felt robotic and were happening or were desvribed just for the sake of being described rather than having anything to do with the development of the story.

The beginning of the book and the middle, i really enjoyed. But the potentional for the 5 star rating started to quickly fade, when it came to the last third of the book. The story started to have some loose ends, started to feel to straightforward and just hurrying up to the final destination of happily ever after, even tho the last third of the book was the hardest part of cptsd one of the main characters feels. That is also why, even tho i really felt the connection to Logan at the time of reading it, now, looking back, it felt like a fling.

From time to time, the connection to characters was very deep for me, but then the character just did something, that did not make any sense, ans i felt unconnected again. But that it also part of being human, right, sometimes people just do things that are ooc.

Also, I did not like the last part of the book -the "years after". It felt like totally different book, and while i am all here for changing and working on one's personal problems and trauma, this last part just really did not feel like the continuation of the previous story.

i don’t think i’ll ever have coherent thoughts for this one just… goddamn.

I really wanted to love this book, and while I had a good time reading it, it didn't quite meet my expectations. The book felt very YA-ish while being an adult story and the development of the relationship between Mattie and Logan felt like it went from 0 to 60. I did really appreciate the bits of articles, Logan's therapy sessions and Mattie's memoir interspersed throughout the story, but the fanfiction parts felt a little bit like mockery (though I have no idea if that was the author's intention). Overall, it was still a fun read and I would recommend it to my friends! I received an ARC of this book on Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
