It took me a whillllee to get into this book like over 150 pages. If I wasn’t reading it a for a book club I might’ve just stopped. The ending is quite predictable from the description and if you’re familiar at all with the nine tailed fox myth, but it was still able to be satisfying. However that last quarter or so of the book took this from a 2.5 or 3 to a 3.5 or nearly a 4 stars for me! The prose was more poetic and classic than I usually like but it somehow walked the very thin line of never getting annoying and actually made reading a very fast experience even as my interest waned it was just incredibly readable and easy to push through. A rich book with lots to discuss for book club!
