 This is the sequel, it was a little lacking. It was shorter than the first book and it could have been longer for sure. Like the first book there was a lot of character plot holes. We barley learned anything about Marie and Alec only how they were related. We still don’t know like anything about Alec and Marie has a side business of returning artifacts related to the Colchis family but this does not explain her wealth. I wish we learned we learned more about her life especially the beef she has with the coroner Lucifer. Dr. Grant’s father was never explained, is he a wizard; who knows? As well as Dr. Grant and Circe’s relationship or Nyx and Persephone’s relationship. The history of how their family came into caring for the Heart when the pieces were scattered. Or why they choose to care for the Heart. The Fates were perfectly creepy and liked the idea that the Gods are just roaming around playing human for fun. I loved Roscoe, he was cute. Marie’s resurrection didn’t feel as necessary I think because she wasn’t a fully fleshed out character and it felt like it was just done for Bri to be with someone. The lack of chemistry and interactions between them made me want Bri to end up alone than with her.
