I really enjoyed this book! Reverse age gaps are very hit or miss for me, but I definitely liked this one. Both characters are older, Greg is 34 and Amanda is 47. Greg was best friends with Amanda's son in high school, and now their paths have crossed again 15+ years later. Amanda is just getting out of an abusive marriage and is finally able to live her life without any constraints. Greg has spent his entire life dedicated to becoming a doctor, and now that all his career aspirations have been met, he's realizing just how much life he's missed out on because of his tunnel vision. Both characters are determined to make up for lost time and just start living life now that they've both found a new sense of freedom.

Amanda spent 30 years in an abusive relationship, so she has a lot of fear, self doubt, and insecurities to overcome. I love how Greg recognized this, but didn't try to take over that healing process for her. He pushed when she needed it, but otherwise let her take the reins and stand up for herself. He sees her and appreciates her in a way that no one else has before. 

Obviously the fact that Greg is her son's best friend causes a lot of inner turmoil and obstacles for both characters, but I really appreciated how mature the characters were. No major miscommunications or unnecessary drama, just a really sweet story about two people who found each other at the perfect time.

Absolutely adored this novel by Kandi Steiner. She really knows how to pull you in and make you live the book as if you're there. 

This story follows 34 year old anesthesiologist, Greg Weston and 47 year old divorcee, Amanda Parks. These two have an interesting past as Amanda is Greg's childhood friends mom... 

Amanda is in the process of divorcing her husband, childhood sweethearts who got pregnant at 15. He isn't making the divorce easy, and learning to figure out who she is at 47 is proving to be difficult. After a car accident leads her to the ER, she sees Greg for the first time since he was 18. The two start up a bucket-list accountability friendship and Greg helps Amanda expand her comfort zones. 

The two battle their attraction for what seems like forever, and ugh the angst! There's roadblocks that are out of their control... Like age and you know, Amanda's son David. 

Greg is absolute perfection, and so swoony. I loved Amanda's character progression as well. This gets 5 ⭐s all around for me!
