I read this book upon request of the author. 

  


I do not usually read this type of books, however, from time to time I do. And I really liked this particular one.

At the beginning, the story of Max was a story heard thousands times before: a successful business man in his early 30's. He has neglected his family and love life altogether pursuing wealth and success, however a series of personal events change his life and bring chaos. Because of this, he aims for redemption and enlightenment. 

Been there, done that, right?

However, Karan Bajaj manages to move the story into different directions (the final chapters were so excruciating and painful to read that I got emotionally tired) and re-told successfully this story of a man that leaves everything in order to find peace.

The Yoga of Max's Discontent is a raw book. Max and the characters around him are imperfect, transparent and vulnerable, that allowed me to connect with them on a personal level. The narration is fast and does not waste time on unnecessary details. I could feel the connection with Max at different points and also, I felt detached and far from his story.

This is a great book. You can finish it within a week and it will ignite several thoughts after doing it. It is an "active book", a story that might take you to question your path and actively talk with your friends about this subject.
