Nothing More to Tell

From #1 New York Times bestselling author of One of Us Is Lying comes a new page-turning mystery. Be sure to keep your friends close . . . and your secrets closer. Four years ago, Brynn left Saint Ambrose School following the shocking murder of her favorite teacher—a story that made headlines after the teacher’s body was found by three Saint Ambrose students in the woods behind their school. The case was never solved. Now that Brynn is moving home and starting her dream internship at a true-crime show, she’s determined to find out what really happened. The kids who found Mr. Larkin are her way in, and her ex–best friend, Tripp Talbot, was one of them. Without his account of events, the other two kids might have gone down for Mr. Larkin’s murder—but instead, thanks to Tripp, they're now at the top of the Saint Ambrose social pyramid. Tripp’s friends have never forgotten what Tripp did for them that day, and neither has he. Just like he hasn’t forgotten that everything he told the police was a lie. Digging into the past is bound to shake up the present, and when Brynn begins to investigate what happened in the woods that day, she uncovers secrets that might change everything—about Saint Ambrose, about Mr. Larkin, and about her ex-best friend, Tripp Talbot. Four years ago someone got away with murder. More terrifying is that they might be closer than anyone thinks.

This is the perfect YA academic thriller/suspense book. I think I’m older than what this book recommends so I think I would rate it higher had I read it when I was younger. I just have read more in-depth adult thrillers that I have to compare it too. But it would be perfect for a younger reader. But it was a quick read that had a lot of fun twists to it. The ending wasn’t my favorite after how much the book went through to end the way it did.

I have read all of Karen M. McManus’s books, so as soon as I heard about this one, I had to grab it. This author is brilliant and I can always connect with her characters, and this book is no exception. I love it.

Good mystery with lots of twists and turns, this book will keep readers engaged from start to finish. A prep school teacher is murdered in the woods and 4 years later, one of his former students, interning at a true crime show, delves into the investigation once again.

Yeah so this girl moved back to her hometown and gets an internship with a crime doc show and she pitches her teachers death as a show idea. She spends most of the time trying to find out who did it and following different paths of suspects and turns out we still don’t know who did it…or do we?

I enjoyed this book and gave it a 5 star rating because Omg it kept me guessing and I love that about a book. I haven’t stayed up past 11:30 at night to finish a book in a long time and this did it. So far all of Karen’s books have kept me hooked and I need more.

I really enjoy Karen McManus’ books and will continue to pick her up for a fun little YA thriller moment. Which is exactly what this was. Fun, twisty, but nothing special. Had a good time reading it, will probably never think about it again. P.S. maybe I was a fucking loser in high school but I HATE how YA books nowadays always have high schoolers with literal drinking problems like ? Maybe I’m just old

Oooo this was so good!! One of my favourite KMM books yet tbh! I’ve been waiting for a new one for a while now and this was just great!  I loved the plot, the true crime content links, the references to one of us is lying series too ahhh. It was honestly just super entertaining and I was hooked from chapter one! I love how there’s always so much to resolve in these bc just so much happens in such a short time, they’re paced really quickly but everything is always addressed and I just love how nicely everything rounds out! As per usual I’m super bad at actually putting together the mystery first but I usually figure it out as the characters do so it’s fun to go through it together!

I like her writing so sooo much. I read it so fast that I just can’t stop reading. But there were times that I just can’t really put my mind in the zone. So, it was like I was reading it but I wasn’t getting it. And I still feel like there’s something that’s missing in this book, but I just can’t point out what it is. Nonetheless, love her book and might read her other ones.

I appreciate the expansion of the KMMCU (Karen M. McManus Cinematic Universe) with the easter eggs in this book.

But, the story here didn't captivate me as much as I was anticipating. The main question of the book is only partially answered at the end. The mystery that ends up the main focus didn't really seem to add up, as the characterization of Mr. Larkin was quite inconsistent. Perhaps he was meant to be more of a morally grey character, but since he spends the entire book dead, it's hard to glean if that was the intent. If it was, it didn't come across well.

Brooke was great. I liked her. She had a lot of spunk and was determined. I think she forgave Tripp a little too easily though.

I don't think this was bad, I don't think McManus can write a bad mystery, but I think this one got a little to convoluted for what it is.

It was as good as any Karen M. McManus mystery.

The characters were average (Charlotte was the most interesting), but they had pretty good chemistry

The plot was thrilling and layered, and it was enjoyable. The plot twists were good

A brilliant thriller as ever. This one gave me serious Good Girl’s Guide to Murder vibes which I loved! I felt in suspense the whole time and it constantly kept the plot moving from reveal to reveal.

McManus does such a brilliant job of creating these gripping crimes that you have to know more about and I think this could well be my favourite of hers. You could really see how her writing and plots have developed since her first YA thriller.

Great characters to read about, gripping plot and full of intrigue!
