To be honest I liked this one. The concept was interesting. It kind of took pieces from all of Karen McManus’ books I noticed when reading it. Most honestly the most memorable part was the freaking ending. I’m sorry but I legitimately thought there was a second book to it but when I looked it up and saw there wasn’t I was legitimately upset. Like I need answers, I need to know things end well not with how it ended here.

Lol i would be so on her ass if i didnt enjoy these almost identical books of her w the same plots and friendships i cannot imagine being a fan even tho i... Kind Of do seem it im rly not. truly

Another Karen M. McManus book for my collection! Although it does fit her brand of high school thriller that is fast paced and a quick read.

I wouldn’t say it’s her best but also not her worst. I enjoyed it for reading it in a day however, the characters are quiet forgetful and didn’t leave an impact on me. There was no character development through the book as it takes place over a day but also the pov’s weren’t distinctive enough. I found myself not knowing who I was reading from as they all blended in together and had the same voice.

I’m hoping her next book might be something a little different…maybe stepping outside the high school plot line

This book is amazing! I love this book. I love all of Karen’s books. 

Every once in a while I took some pauses to just think and try to form a theory, but none of my theories were (completely) correct. Thougth I might have to reread the ending (or even better, the whole book), because I’m not sure if I really know who actually killed the victim. I know who was behind it, but not who actually did it. Did I somehow miss it? Is there a sequel coming???

I have and always will love Karen M. McManus’s books. While currently there are 2 I have yet to read, she will be one of the ones I will always recommend. 

That being said, this book was not my favorite as it took me awhile to get into it (I know I say this a lot, but it took longer than normal). If it wasn’t for the audiobook, I probably wouldn’t be that far into it. I really enjoyed the audiobook and recommend using it while reading!

I will say that I had my suspicions about everything and yet every single one turned out either half way wrong or completely wrong! I’ve always been able to guess at least right before the big reveal and the only I was able to guess what the surprise of the last chapter!

So who doesn’t need a break from school? You lost the class president debate, you wanna relive old memories, and you just need a day off with old friends. You think you’re having a good day then all of a sudden you follow the new class president into a building and find him dead and now you’re to blame. You and the friends you’re with investigate because it don’t seem right. Something is fishy. 

Idk what Karen is doing but the books she’s writing have had me reading at home again and straight into the night. Staying up later than i probably should. 5 stars man!

Karen McManus is an auto-read author for me and this did not disappoint! i found this to be a very fun, quick read with some good twists. however, the ending did fall just a little short for me. if you're looking for a fun, YA thriller this book (along with McManus' other works) is ya girl.

Can’t lie compared to the other KMM books I’ve read so far this one just felt really…bland? Like it was alright I had fun reading it but it was just not enough really…

I liked the MC’s again and the skipping school and getting caught up in a murder plot but it just didn’t really feel like it went as far as I wanted it to.

You'll Be the Death of Me is another easy to fly through mystery! I always enjoy the characters that Karen M. McManus writes. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with Ivy, Cal & Mateo. I will say that the big reveal felt a little messy for me. Overall though, I think this will be another one that my students will devour as fast as I did.

this was a really fast paced, gripping book! i actually think this is my favorite mcmanus book, i think the quick pace kept you hooked! i do wish that we could’ve connected with the characters a little bit more, i feel like i don’t know anything about them outside of the plot.

I still like "One of Us is Lying" to bits, but this is the second standalone by McManus that left me disappointed. 
This book had many similarities with her other works: in plot details, characters and way of delivery. Once again she wrote first-person POVs of multiple characters, and while 1st-person isn't my favourite thing it can be done good. But here it just made everything more unnatural. I mean, do you usually muse about your parents' work while being on run? That's how infodumps in the first quarter of the book were introduced.
I liked friends' dynamics and slow uncovering of their past, mystery was fine too. But all the stuff above deterred me from enjoying it.
