A few years ago, this was my first read from Karen Rose, and it is absolutely my favourite book of hers from her entire series. Mysterious and incriminating fires, a serial arsonist and killer on the loose, fire department Lieutenant Reed Solliday is on the case with bold and brash detective Mia Mitchell and things heat up between them, and I'm not referring to the fires. 

You see an insight into the killer's mind and motives, and why they are doing these heinous crimes, it is interesting to read their point of view, although dubious morality and choices. 

This book involves HEA (happily ever after), and for content warnings, I would put depictions of guns and violence, sex scenes.
