Inspector Pancakes is a ridiculous book written strictly for the laughs to be obtained from how obscene the humour is. The book is presented as a silly, children's story with a cute, saccharine plotline; however, in fine print, there is another story with a much more adult-oriented, gruesome focus. The art in the book is simply adorable, and somehow this makes the gritty, noir style adult story even more hilarious! If you're not a fan of such ridiculous, Inspector Pancakes isn't going to do anything for you. But it this type of juxtaposed silliness makes you laugh, Pancakes will be a hilarious read!
