Let’s talk about the plot,the non-spoilery part.If you are one who got the book by reading the blurb,you might be a tiny bit,like really tiny bit disappointed,because the blurb promises a lot of action and adrenaline rush,but the actual story fell just a mark short of that adrenaline rush.The plot had a potential to be amazing,but because of the slow pace,it had to suffice with being a good plot rather than amazing and strong.And as far as I know,the slow pace was because of the unnecessary details at places,like some details about what a particular character does when home and stuff,it isn’t like details shouldn’t be included,but it’s just those details which add extra words to the book and slows down the pace and doesn’t do anything to make it better.

Despite all those I liked the book quite enough,and that’s due to these reasons.One,I liked the plot.Yeah,I just talked about how the book was slow,but ignore the pace,concentrate on the plot,on what’s happening,you’ll find that you actually enjoy the book.And second,the characters.They were strong characters,strong as in mentally strong.And also how ,it despite being 1888,the women broke the barriers set by the society,and went on to become well known.I like how the book depicts them in their roles, when at those times,it would be men taking those roles in major cases and this is a fact that you will come across in the book too .The most well-known consulting detective at that time,one of the greatest journalists,they are all women in the book,and I appreciate the author for making it that way.And the protagonist,who is the sister of the most well-known consulting detective,is a strong character too in her own terms,despite being shadowed by her sister.Also,I love the relationship between Harry and John.I wish someone like John was there to teach me boxing.
