I really wanted them to get together, but almost halfway through the book and he was still dating another person. There was a lot of pining—which I live for—but it translated to the protagonists not having much scene-time together.

I adore books with dual POV and listening to the male protagonist pine in realtime was delightful. I enjoyed their little quips and how they easily complimented each other.

Franny Doyle thought she had her life figured out until she gets laid off and then tears open the back of her dress on the subway.  Hayes Montgomery III is right there to offer her his coat, but when the video of their exchange goes viral, the expectations that a romance will blossom become an unbearable weight.  Franny and Hayes find themselves embroiled in a media frenzy, but Franny still needs a job and Hayes, who is very uncomfortable in social situations, is overwhelmed by the attention.  Together, they must find a way to navigate the world of social media.

In a New York Minute contains a wonderful premise that shines a light on the effects of social media on our everyday lives, however, the plot does not take this idea far enough.  While initially the story does deal with social media, so much of the book includes other subplots that don't fit with the original idea, such as Franny and her sudden search for her biological father.  Also, there is so much coincidence and predictable outcomes, that the story frequently loses it's momentum.  In addition, the city of New York is featured in the book, but almost as an afterthought, which seems like such a missed opportunity.  Overall, In a New York Minute has some excellent intentions, but the execution could have been so much better.

Franny and Hayes are precious and anyone who loves smiling at sweet rom coms should absolutely read this. 

It’s full of banter and friendships and an endless will-they/won’t-they anticipation to keep you turning the pages. They’re both awkward in a way that makes you giggle (and that reminded me of Matt and I’s beginning). Plus, their meet cute is quite possibly one of my new favorites. Soooo happy to have another 5-star new adult romance added to my list. 🥰
