In theory, laws are sup- posed to keep the peace and be fair, but I've never found either to be true. They tend to benefit the powerful and everyone else is left to drown

Hope is a horrible, nebulous thing. If I don't ask the question then I can stay in this moment of not knowing. There's magic in ignorance; haven't I learned that lesson several times over by now?
