This read was short, sweet and oh so entertaining. I didn’t read any of the other books in this series, but if they’re anything like this book I’m definitely going back for more. 

A class reunion brings Jessie back to her hometown, to face the past and make amends for all the ‘mean girl’ pranks she pulled as a teenager. People got hurt in the process and especially her ex boyfriend, Jake, who she left behind. But Jessie is a changed woman, and after 10 years and a little push from her best friends, she decides it’s high time to apologise.
 
What she didn’t expect was Jake. Even though a lot has changed in their lives since the last time they saw each other, being with him was easy and familiar. But it’s always a dangerous game to dream about things you cannot have, and with separate lives with hundreds of miles between them reconciliation is a difficult, if not an impossible task.

I'm a total sucker for novella series... especially when I'm only familiar with one or two of the authors participating. When I saw Katee Robert was going to release Prom Queen as part of the Bad Boy Homecoming novella series, I knew I had to read ALL THE BOOKS. As it worked out, I only got around to hers before release, but I did pre-order the other four and I'll be making time to read them ASAP. Short, sweet and sexy novellas are such a great palate cleanser between books. Or, you know, they also make for a great binge. But, I digress. Prom Queen. That's what I'm here to talk about. :) 

I adored this novella! It was a great mix of "fake it till you make it" and second chance romance which, as you probably know, are two of my favorite tropes. (Maybe I should just admit that I love most tropes, huh? Anyhow.) Jessica and Jake were both wonderful characters. Their chemistry was apparent from the minute they were reunited, so it was easy to root for them. The plot setup was rom com perfection: ex mean girl is heading home for her high school reunion and doesn't want to go dateless for a number of reasons — one of which being her ex — so she hires a date... and the date just happens to be her ex. This is gold, y'all. 

Prom Queen comes in at just a little over 100 pages and I swear I read it in about an hour. It was a total page-turner. I couldn't get enough of these two characters and the fun, sexy times they gave. I was also kinda surprised to get a fair few feels along the way. I was expecting something totally fluffy, but Prom Queen was more than that. At its heart, it was a lovely second chance between two characters who were obviously meant to be together. If the rest of the Bad Boy Homecoming series is this good, I'm going to be one happy reader!

I really enjoyed this book even though I had not read the previous 2 books in this series.

This book is well written and even though it didn't get me hooked on the book I will want to read the others in this series .
