This book contained far more detail about the internet and underlying technology and history than I expected. That being said, it was extremely informative and well written. I got a little bored in the middle but by the end I was back on board. Certainly would only recommend to someone with a software or computer engineering background, otherwise it cab be a real snoozer.

This book was okay. It was interesting to learn more about how the Internet started. However, I would have liked more about the actual technology itself and less about each engineer's idiosyncrasies. The authors also didn't do a great job at helping the reader keep track of all the people in the book, and the epilogue feels super outdated as so much has changed since 1996.

Amazingly detailed book with a lot of original material, interviews with the pioneers of the Internet/the Arpanet. This book doesn't even go beyond 1990 (when HTTP was invented at CERN); and the subsequent browser wars. 

Everything that happened in networking before the year 1990: including the Arpanet, Ethernet, ALOHAnet, etc this book is the best reference for that information
