I think this one had a lot of potential, and it really delivered in the romance, and the built up the relationship, even if it was kinda insta love.
The few problems I had was basically some plot lines regarding Isaiah's and Rachel's arc of them growing up and changing their way of thinking and living the life they wanted not the one forced to them, they just got dropped so suddenly at the end and like quickly resolved, understandably but like idk, i feel there was another way to deal with it all.

This book was so amazing. I absolutely loved Isaiah and Rachel together. I was rooting for them the whole time! And then that one part.. Yeah.. That one part, I was crying so hard. DONT SCARE ME LIKE THAT KATIE MCGARRY! I am super excited to read the next book when it comes out!

I'm conflicted. I loved Isaiah. even connected to Rachel somehow--which, is a first for this series. But her family... ugh, the pissed me off so much. No idea how to rate it

I've received an ARC of this in exchange of a honest review Publicado originalmente en: El Extraño Gato del Cuento Con Dare To You quedé un poco decepcionada, después de leer Pushing The Limits tenía grandes expectativas que lamentablemente la segunda parte no llegó a completar, pero aun así cuando tuve la oportunidad de leer Crash Into You, solo no pude dejarla pasar.

Isaiah was my favorite character in Pushing the Limits so I was really excited when I heard Isaiah will be getting his own book. Isaiah, our brokenhearted bad by, met Rachel Young at a drag race. Recently rejected by Beth, he didn't want to be with Rachel to risk getting hurt again. I loved both Isaiah and Rachel. They both learned a lesson throughout the whole book and I felt like they grew a lot as people. Their relationship was really cute and my heart was cheering for them. Isaiah was also really protective and of course Rachel wouldn't take any of that. I love how Isaiah always defends Rachel and how he didn't want to fall in love with Rachel. You know all those bad boys. The ones with a tough exterior but a soft interior. They're my weakness! To overcome their own problems, both characters supported each other no matter what happened. Overall, this contemporary is one of the best I've read in 2013. I would recommend it to anyone and I can definitely say that this tops Pushing the Limits in my opinion. Rating: A-

Amazzing! I loved finally get this story! So unique!

“Crash into you” is the third companion book in the “Pushing the limits” series. This series follows different characters that had been introduced on one of the previous books but that develop their story in their book. Isaiah is now living with Noah, but nothing is going quite as planned since they are quite short on money and it would actually be much easier for Noah to start living on campus as Echo. Isaiah is pretty desperate and ends up going for a one-time race for Erik, the guy that runs the illegal business in their part of town. That race would be against Rachel Young, the typical straight A rich girl who appears in the wrong part of time at the wrong time. The race is call off midway as the cops appear. Rachel helps Isaiah when his car stops and somehow they end up clicking. Nonetheless, it will be better for Rachel if she does not see Isaiah again, so when she leaves her cell phone he never calls back. However, when he founds out that Erik thinks Rachel had something to do with the cops appearing on the race, he has to save her from him even if that means having an impossible debt to pay with Erik. “Crash into you” was as fantastic as the previous books. The writing of Katie McGarry hooks you up super tight and you find yourself reading non-stop. I like how the typical rich girl likes something that is not really typical, that is one of the things that make this book special. There are a lot of stories out there about rich girls who falls in love with the poor and not so good boy. However, the fact that Rachel is obsessed with cars makes her speak Isaiah’s language. I liked the rush about the bet and seeing how they fight to get through it. I also liked that it takes time for Rachel to completely open herself to Isaiah, even if they are quite bound together. And last but not least I loved how her mother gets really serious and sincere at the end. In conclusion, another amazing “typical romance” made unique by Katy McGarry.

My favorite of the series. Made me look at love in a different way. So amazing. Can't wait for Take Me On and see how their story progresses (even if it isn't their story..). Although, I hope there's a story with Abby!! I loved her. :) Anyways, enough rambling, go read this series. :)

Troubled boy in the foster system meets beautiful blonde rich girl after she gets in trouble at a drag race. They fall in love but various troubles continue to threaten their relationship and safety. A bit overblown on the drama for, this is not my favorite McGarry novel. I like my ladies a little more bad ass.

Hermosoo, lo amé igual que las demás historias :) Me encanto la relación de Rachel e Isaiah, y todo lo que pasaron para estar juntos

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads . Here's one absolute truth: Katie McGarry writes amazing characters. Beautifully broken characters that I can't help but fall in love with. Both Isaiah and Rachel are damaged, but for different reasons. I want to hug them both and make them realize they are wanted. (Isaiah especially… ) They grew up in two completely different worlds, but they're more alike than they may think at first. "Speed. It's what I crave. I can race the emotions away." People abandon Isaiah. No one except his best friend Noah, and Noah's girlfriend Echo, have cared enough to stick around. Now, there's a chance he's going to lose them, too. A foster system kid, the last thing he wants to do is go back into a group home. Isaiah thinks he's filled with darkness, but underneath it all, he's a caring and protective guy. He's not at the top of the food chain on the streets, but he's definitely someone no one messes with. "I like cars. I like the feel of them. The sound of them. My mind clears when I'm behind the wheel and there's something about the sound of an engine dropping into gear as I press on the gas that makes me feel… powerful." Rachel is a replacement child. Her sister Colleen died of Leukemia before she was born and her mother has been grooming her to be perfect Colleen since her birth. No one sees the real Rachel. The car-loving girl is hidden underneath a perfectly polished exterior. She speaks at Leukemia fundraisers and does what her mom, dad and overly-protective brothers tell her. She has anxiety and has panic attacks that cause her to vomit blood. Everyone thinks she's fragile and in need of protection, but she's stronger than any of them give her credit for. Driving is her escape. Behind the wheel of a car is the only place she feels in control. "Fuck me. God does exist and he sent an angel in a white Mustang to prove it." Isaiah and Rachel first meet at a shady street race. It was her first time there and she looked so innocent that he had to protect her. Instead of allowing her to race one of the other guys there, which would have likely won him the money he needed to secure his home with Noah, he offers to race her. When things head south pretty quickly at the conclusion of the race, they save each other and make an immediate connection. "Because I want to, I keep my hand against her face. Rachel's cheek is warm and smooth. I like touching her and, even more, I like her touching me. This angel has blown away my every idea of what a rich, private school girl should be. No drinking, no boyfriend, likes fast cars – hell, knows fast cars – and is concerned over me." "He's observant. Overly so. I think he could tell me more about my actions than I could. A huge part of me doesn't like it. In order for me to fit in at home, people can't notice me. It's harder to pull off being someone else when you're the center of attention. But I'm not home. I'm miles from there. And here, in this room, I like how Isaiah looks at me as if I'm the only girl in the world. Or like an antelope he's going to pounce on." Rachel is innocent and naive. Isaiah is anything but. The first night they spend together, ends with little more than a kiss. Rachel's first kiss. But what is made more than apparent that night is the strength of the connection they made. Their chemistry is off the charts, but more than that, they just connect in a very real way. It scares both of them. "Rachel can't like me because she doesn't know me. The real me. For Rachel, life is still sunshine, rainbows and pink fucking fuzzy unicorns. I'm nothing but darkness, clouds and rats." "Tell her it's over, asshole. Tell her that you come from different worlds and that it would never work. Tell her that kiss meant more to you than she could ever imagine. Tell her that you'll dream about her and think about her, but that's where it ends." After their first meeting, Isaiah has every intention of giving Rachel up, despite the feelings he has for her. Their connection was immediate and powerful, but he doesn't see any way they can be together. They may both like and know cars, but that's where the similarities end. Or so he thinks. He sees himself as no good and doesn't want to drag her down with him. He says goodbye and tells her he'll call, but he has no intention of doing so. He has to let her go. It's for the best. "I'm still no good enough for a girl like her, but she's back in my life and she needs someone to protect her. I'll fill the role and absorb as much of her light as I can before she leaves me behind in the darkness." When Isaiah gets word that creepy Eric from the street race sets his sights on Rachel as a means to recover the money that was stolen from him, he decides to seek her out to protect her. They're in one big mess together. But they have each other, so that has to count for something, right? As time goes on, Isaiah realizes it's impossible for him to hide his feelings for Rachel. She's hurt by the way he disappeared after the first night, but she can't deny the feelings she has for him. They have six weeks to come up with the money they now owe Eric. Oh-so-much happens during those six weeks. I wouldn't even tell you if you asked. You have to experience the roller coaster ride for yourself. They have a lot of obstacles to overcome along the way. Also, along the way, they find themselves falling for each other. "Tingles and shock waves and earthquakes and hurricanes. All of it takes place at the same time as our mouths move not nearly fast enough." I absolutely loved Rachel and Isaiah together. There's something about when two broken souls find each other, bring out the best in each other, that just warms my heart. Their chemistry was so immediate, so real. They were stronger together and I loved reading them like that. They grew together. It was easy to see how strongly they felt for each other. And while there were some passionate moments, they were done in that tasteful young adult way that was sheer perfection. These two gave me such warm, fuzzy feelings. <3 "You're the first person to ever see me." Once again, I found myself absolutely blown away by a Katie McGarry book. This book hooked me from page one. I fell for the characters immediately. I wanted to protect them and keep them from danger. I wanted to yell at them for making stupid decisions. I cheered and smiled, got angry and cried. Crash Into You was utterly unputdownable. I raced (see what I did there) towards the end of the book, desperate to know how it would all turn out, but never wanting it to end because I liked these characters so much. The writing was beautiful and real, the dialogue absolute perfection. I can't even begin to tell you how many passages I highlighted as I read. I just want to hug this book and never let it go. Crash Into You was a wild ride filled with wonderful, complex characters, angst, action, obstacles and emotion. I couldn't have asked for more. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review. All quotes come from the review copy and may differ from the final version.

I admit, the rush of the romance and intensity of the poor was super different from the first two books, but still good in its own way. Although I originally found the female lead, Rachel, somewhat unlikable, as the novel progressed I began to see her strengths. Isaiah is of course, as perfect as he's always been, and I loved finally focusing in on him.

* This review is spoiler-free for Crash Into You, but may contain mild spoilers for Pushing the Limits and Dare You To. * I’m a huge fan of the Pushing the Limits series. I’ve really enjoyed every book thus far. I’d have to say Dare You To is still my favorite of the three so far, but I liked them all so that’s a plus. For someone who doesn’t like series, such as myself, I’ve been surprised by my enjoyment over this series. I first started this book immediately prior to its release, reading an ARC I was provided. But at the time life got in the way (I was battling health issues that made it almost impossible to read) and I was unable to continue on. Then as time went by, I got behind on other review books and simply pushed this one to the side. For some reason it just popped into my head the other day and I felt it was the right time to get back into it. I purchased the audio and went from there. “Noah and I—we’re brothers despite not sharing blood, and Echo became my sister the day she put a smile on his face. They’re my family and I’m going to fight to keep what’s mine.” I first fell in love with Isaiah in Pushing the Limits. He was so unique. Such a tough character that was dealt a horrible hand in life, yet a character that had a wonderful heart and deserved a happy ending. Loyal to his best friends to no end. In Dare You To I was hoping and praying that he would find his happy ending with Beth. But, yeah… that didn’t happen. So with Crash Into You I just knew that Isaiah would FINALLY get his story heard. I immediately liked Rachel and felt for her as well. With a gazillion overprotective brothers breathing down her neck constantly, Rachel had difficulty being herself. She was having an issue with panic attacks as a child, and was forced to keep them a secret from her family so they wouldn’t get upset with her. The only person who knew she was still struggling with these inner demons was her twin brother, who covered for her when she covered for him. Rachel’s only outlet from her anxiety was her love of cars. She knew more than most guys about cars. They were her passion. The two meet up randomly and quickly become inseparable. Both struggling with home life, though complete opposites, these two bond over their tragic lives and learn a lot from each other. I’m always for a self-growth story, and this had a lot of that included. Fighting your inner demons and being a better person, something we all deal with at one point or another in our lives. “I can’t give you the world, Rachel, but I’ll give you all I got.” I do have to say parts of this story dragged for me. I was a bit bored in the middle and had trouble staying focused on the audiobook. But aside from that, the beginning and ending were fast and enjoyable, and I overall really enjoyed this one. Just felt it was maybe a little long and parts that didn’t really seem necessary could have been cut out. Overall, another great book in the Pushing the Limits series. Time to get my hands on a copy of Take Me On and get to know more about West. I’m not a huge fan of his right now, but I have a feeling that will quickly change when I read Take Me On. ;) Audiobook Impressions: I always prefer having two narrators when there are two points of view in a book. Especially when one is male and one is female. So having two this time was definitely an added plus. Both narrators were new to me, and both did a great job. I wasn’t quite sure I liked Vikas Adam as Isaiah at first. He just didn’t have the sound I had associated with Isaiah all of this time. But he grew on me, and by about halfway through the book I accepted his voice. Alicia Harding as Rachel was pretty spot-on for me. She portrayed her naivety and insecurities perfectly. A great pair for this book. (Thanks to Harlequin Teen for the review copy!) Find this review and others like it at Lost in Literature!

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life OH GOD. OH GOD. Excuse me while I compose myself after reading THE MOST AMAZING BOOK EVER!!! AAHHH!!! I love you, Katie McGarry. Like, SO. MUCH. And I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this series. It’s probably my all-time favorite contemporary YA series. Ever! Basically, I’m obsessed with the series. I just can’t get enough of it. I always want more! I totally squealed when I received an advanced copy of Crash into You. Because I’ve been dying to read this book. It absolutely did not disappoint. And I was so happy when I found out there are going to be more books in the series after Crash into You! AH! Okay, okay, calm down Lacey! *takes a deep breath* Wow. There are no words to describe how I’m feeling after reading Crash into You. Maybe insanely happy? Maybe just insane? Because I went crazy over this book. Crash into You is a beautifully written YA contemporary romance. It’s young adult at its finest. The characters are real, they pop out of the pages and make you feel for them. You experience all their emotions alongside them, and I bow down to Katie McGarry for being able to make me feel this way. Crash into You is Isaiah’s story, the third and last person of the trio that includes him, Noah, and Beth. Oh man, this boy. This boy just gets to me. I had been waiting for the day he’d get his story ever since Pushing the Limits came out. And after reading Dare You To? I just could not wait. Because I knew with absolute certainty that I would love Isaiah and fall in love with his story too. And oh my goodness, I did! Rachel and Isaiah meet at an illegal drag race. Exciting right? Well, it gets even better later on in the book. I absolutely loved reading about the drag racing aspect of the story. it’s just so illicit, so exciting, so exhilarating to read! If drag racing is a part of a book, I’m SO there. And Isaiah? Plus drag racing? *fans self* Too. sexy. Rachel was a frustrating character to read. Well, it was more like her family situation was frustrating. I felt sorry for Rachel, because her entire family never took the time to know her. When they look at her, they see Colleen, the daughter and sister who died of cancer. They never see Rachel. I was angry and frustrated at her family for being so unfair, for putting so much pressure on her to be who she’s not. And Rachel has severe panic attacks. She can’t handle too much attention, but I never saw her as being weak. She’s strong in a different way, in that she puts those she loves first. With his love of cars, I knew Isaiah had to fall in love with a girl who knows her cars. And yes! Rachel is as much a car fanatic as Isaiah is. I adored Rachel and Isaiah. I thought they were perfect together. Rachel is the rich, good girl who is pressured by her family to be who she isn’t, and Isaiah is the tough bad boy with the tattoos and earrings who only wants to get out of foster care. They are complete opposites, except for their love of cars, but they work. They balance each other out, and maybe I’m a sucker for the good girl-bad boy love story, but who cares? It was SO good. Their story made me smile, made me laugh, made me giggle, made me swoon, made me gasp, made my heart pound, and made me fall in love all over again with all of Katie McGarry’s characters. Yes, Noah and Echo, Beth and Ryan, and everyone else is in this book! We also get introduced to Rachel’s older brothers. Four older brothers, to be exact. They’re all jerks, but lovable jerks. And they’ve got the older brother protectiveness in spades. Ethan is Rachel’s twin brother, West is less than a year older than them, and the oldest brothers are Jack and Gavin. I’m SO excited to read West’s book, Take Me On! I was really hoping the next book would be about Logan, the adrenaline junkie, but it doesn’t even matter because I’ll read anything Katie McGarry writes. I highly, highly recommend this series. The romance is perfect, the characters are incredibly written, and the boys are just so damn swoon-worthy! 5 stars! LOVED with all my heart! Thanks to the publisher for generously providing me an ARC to review. Liked this review? Subscribe to Booklovers For Life for more!
