Right away, I'm deviating from this book by saying that I was not the biggest fan of the first book, Like You Care, mainly because of Turner. But I liked Turner so much in this book. Anyways, Donna is a POWERHOUSE! I adore her character. Her personality. HER. Don't get me wrong, I was frustrated with her at some points but it just made her better. It made her real. Donna is the "perfect" daughter, the "perfect" student, the "perfect sister, the "perfect" everything. She's trying to deal with the weight of being the best when Hendrix comes out of nowhere and it makes her reevaluate. Yes, she's perfect but it's not real, it's a front. And Hendrix. Oh, Hendrix, Hendrix, Hendrix. He is past being "perfect" and is now just trying to be "better". He knows how Donna is feeling, he's gone through it. Their lives are so similar and he doesn't want Donna to go down the road he did. They don't always get along, but in the small moments they do, he wants to help her. He may not be perfect but he is EVERYTHING. He is the "bad boy" with a heart of gold. I kept falling in love with him over and over. Every time I thought his character couldn't get better, he DID. Holy smokes, the romance was Magnifique. Donna and Hendrix are both incredibly stubborn so it just made the hate-to-love so deliciously sweet. I loved the build of it. In a sense, it is kind of slow-burn but it's so satisfying. Watching them learn to trust each other was beautiful and I am so glad I continued with this series.

*Received ARC in exchange for an honest review* Full review on my blog bookboyfriendsdoitbetter.com Rating: 4 Stars! This is a Bully romance but it is not the guy (Turner) bullying the girl (Mena) This was my first Kaydence Snow book and I was not disappointed at all! This story is so heart-wrenchingly beautiful! I'm not going to lie though, Turner was not my favorite. I didn't really care about him as a character but I did appreciate what he felt for and did for Mena. I absolutely adore Mena and seeing her get up every day knowing yet hoping that it would be different, really hits you in the feels. I cried a bit when reading this book because this book just punches you in the heart and doesn't apologize. I loved the relationship Mena had with her cousins and Amaya! It was my favorite part of the book and I can't wait to continue with Dona (one of the cousins) in the second book! I devoured this book in less than 4 hours and I couldn't put it down. This is story isn't what you would expect from a typical bully romance but if you love sweet relationships mixed with a dash of darkness, then this is the book for you!
