Poetry is often viewed as a chore requiring dictionaries, a vast knowledge of literature in preparation for the allusions, and a chunk of time dedicated to unwrapping the meaning from words. Keaton Henson sees this and does the opposite: he writes poetry to convey ideas. He doesn't hide them in symbols or code, he just lets you in to this private viewing of his soul for that's really the heart of this book; seeing into the mind of an artist. 

The poems are raw or comical or simply there. All of them clue in the reader to the life of the author and allow personal reflection and thinking about "what is poetry" and "how did I wind up in this poem?" The emotions presented are modern and difficult for public talk and so the poems are a delight to read. A great collection and time, I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a nice escape from reality and the realm of intensive poetry.
