When Empire Calls

Its 1899 and James' two brothers (Edward and Lionel) go to fight in the Boer War. Life continues for James, going to school, helping out on the family farm and working for Fred, the local shopkeeper. Edward's letters to James describe the horrors of war, which Fred knows only too well. Suggested level: intermediate, junior secondary.
