White Line Fever A Novel

Carrol Jo Hummer is a Vietnam vet who wants to make an honest living as a trucker. He goes to Tucson with his bride to work for his old friend, Duane, who manages a trucking company. When he realizes he will be carrying illegal cargo, he refuses the haul, and as a result, is beaten by an organized group of criminals headed by a man named Cutler. Because of Hummer's continued defiance, Cutler's gang murders Duane, sets fire to Hummer's house and beats his wife, killing their expected baby. The enraged Hummer then takes his revenge on Cutler.
