Kendall Ryan2015
**Warning: this book contains an addictively filthy alpha male who will dampen your panties and own your days and nights. Proceed at your own risk.** Meet Colton Drake... I have no idea why she auctioned off her virginity for a cool mill. Regardless, I'm now the proud new owner of a perfectly intact hymen. A lot of good that will do me. I have certain tastes, certain sexual proclivities. My cock is a bit more discriminatory than most. And training a virgin takes finesse and patience - both of which I lack. Sophie Evans has been backed into a corner. With her sister's life hanging in the balance, the only choice is to claw her way out, even if that means selling her virginity to the highest bidder at an exclusive erotic club. When Colton Drake takes her home, she quickly learns nothing is as it seems with this beautifully troubled man. Being with him poses challenges she never expected, and pushes her to want things she never anticipated. A sinfully seductive erotic romance where everything has a price and the cost of love is the highest of all from New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Kendall Ryan. This is book 1 in a series and ends in a cliffhanger. Book 2, FILTHY BEAUTIFUL LOVE will be released Sept 29.

Phenomenal finish to the series! This entire series is great! Each brother having completely different personalities & quirks made for a laugh. My favorite parts are the small subtle cutesy things... the name of the Yacht, the baby pool in book 3, etc. Small details, that really make the story feel real! Well done Kendall Ryan, you've done it again. PHENOMENAL

This book started off very unique, if not a bit hard to read and crude. However, as the story developed not only did it get sweeter, but also more typical. I won't say I was surprised or wowed at every turn, but the writing, characters, and pace were definitely enough to keep me entertained. The ending left on a cliffhanger, but not in a bad way. It left me craving to know what would happen next. I feel the next book in the series will be a bit more typical, but I am looking forward to Sophie and Colt's continuation nevertheless.

"Who I was before became irrelevant the moment I met you." Review also found here. It's fairly obvious how shameless I am about my love of books penned by the incomparable Kendall Ryan. The third installment of the Filthy Beautiful Lies series, Filthy Beautiful Lust, is no exception to this rule. Just as slow of a burn (and that delicious ache of a good love story) as her impressive archive of books, there's no shortage of steamy scenes and fiery characters for readers to swoon over. Although readers were surely sad to close the story of Sophie and Colton in Filthy Beautiful Love, it's no doubt they will find themselves just as fond of Kylie and Pace. Best of all, we do get glimpses of both Sophie and Colton in the duration of Filthy Beautiful Lust. Which should be unsurprising--given that the series is about the delectable Drake brothers. Catch me, I'm swooning. I wasn't sure I would be down for these two--Pace was a great side character but I was skeptical of if I'd like him in his own narration--but holy crap, they are blazing through the pages at me. Kendall Ryan drives her plots straight through your heart. The character of Kylie, for example, just might be my new-favourite Ryan heroine. She is easy to root for and not without flaws, aka the best kind of character. I loved the glimpses we got of her during Sophie and Colton's stories, but there is so much more of her to be explored in Filthy Beautiful Lust. I love how strong of a lead she is and how attentive she is to her young son, how determined she is to do what's best for him always--the number one thing a parent should do. Further, I loved seeing how Pace fit right in with Kylie. They truly became a family unit without even trying. While I was nervous of Pace and how his story would go, I adored everything about him as he grew into the man he'd always meant to be. This thankfully didn't feel like a choppy, "Womanizer reforms himself out of the blue!" sort of story. (Then again, Kendall Ryan's work has always been crafted beautifully. So, this, dear reader, is not a shocking thing to note.) His scenes with Max were heartwarming and of course his chemistry with Kylie was the variety that could make a girl melt into a puddle straight away. There were several turning points in the novel for Pace. My personal favourite was when he realized how much Kylie and Max had grown to mean to him. We saw that softness in him the first time we glimpse him interacting with Max, all the way back in Sophie and Colton's story, but it only grows from this point on. (HOW CUTE IS IT SEEING MAX CALL PACE PAPA? Kill me.) I liked the trust that built between him and Kylie; it is a true partnership that is built solely on respect of one another. They are equals. They better each other. And, yes, they lose themselves in all that captivating chemistry. Basically--they are what dreams are made of when it comes to relationships and I couldn't have felt anymore warmth towards them. Another thing I loved was how Kendall Ryan approached Kylie being a single-mother. All the things that go through her mind about what's best for Max, her needs being second to his, the aftermath of Max's father (who was a total prick, obviously, and I really wanted to slap him when he pops back into Kylie and Max's life) and all that jazz. Her background is compelling and realistic. When I said you can't help but to root for her, you really can't. Kylie just gets a hold on your heart and doesn't let go. Similarly, so does Pace. Which is why they are so perfect for one another and I'm definitely in a puddle on the floor with the way their story concluded. I loved them! Long review short--Filthy Beautiful Lust is an emotional rollarcoaster that will leave readers with this tingling feeling of love and lust afterwards.

Blog | Twitter | Instagram | Review also found here. (Clears throat) My name is Jessica and I'm officially a Kendall Ryan addict. Someone should have warned me her books were so delicious and addictive because damn, I have burned through so many in just a few months. She is definitely in a league of her own when it comes to the genre because she is THE best. Hands down, one of the best romance writers of our day. Just as easily as her prose can move you, all those steamy interactions her character's have with their love interests will send you into a frenzy. I may sound dramatic when I say this but, phew, I need a cold shower after finishing Filthy Beautiful Lies. Kendall Ryan proves once more that not only can she execute a story in both teasing and satisfying ways, her characters command your attention from the start and never let you leave them behind. There are three impossibilities in this book. One, Filthy Beautiful Lies is impossible to put down. Two, Sophie and Colton's chemistry is hot and impossible to ignore. Three, it is impossible to forget. Kendall Ryan knows how to tug on your heartstrings and have you swooning over this unconventional love story. Reading Filthy Beautiful Lies is like feeling that buzz of life, love and lust at your fingertips. I had a feeling I would enjoy the novel but, strangely enough, I was a bit hesitant towards it. I bought it (and yes, fine, basically all of her books) after finishing her newest series Forbidden Desires but I had myself convinced, for some mundane reason, that it would be nowhere near as good as Dirty Little Secret or Dirty Little Promise. I know better, now. I was young then. Naive. Ahem, but really though--there's something spellbinding about Filthy Beautiful Lies. Now, I can definitely acknowledge that this book won't be for everyone. Before I dive into my love of it (I'm not drooling over Colton Drake, what are you talking about?) there is one things a reader should be aware of about Filthy Beautiful Lies. This fact is glaringly obvious, as it is stated within the blurb for the novel, but, Sophie and Colton meets in the most unconventional of ways. Sophie, in an effort to pay for her deathly ill twin-sisters cancer treatments, throws herself into an auction... for her virginity. Yes, yes. That is where it all begins. This isn't all that uncommon of a practice, women selling their virginity. For some, it's about control. For Sophie, it's a last-ditch effort to save her sister, her best friend. Colton has a past of his own that lead him to the fateful night in question. Naturally, Colton Drake won the bidding and suddenly Sophie finds herself in one massively erotic scenario. Filthy Beautiful Lies may have begun in strange circumstances but the way that Kendall Ryan weaves a new kind of intimacy together is stunning. Not a single page goes by that you aren't absorbing their interactions, their chemistry, the almost tentative way they explore this "relationship" they find themselves in. I loved how unexpected it became when they both realized that there was something more there than either had been looking for. While Sophie is learning the word of her body, Colton is learning how to open himself up again and finally move forward from his past. Colton and Sophie are both irresistible together and apart. They share a connection that is easy for readers to swoon over. Further, Kendall Ryan molds them into two very complex individuals. While sex is a massive part to Filthy Beautiful Lies, I enjoyed the pacing and how their actions progressed with one another and how in control they both were of where they wanted to go. Every page is a new beginning and spark to what is burning between them. There are some solid side characters as well--Sophie's twin sister, Becca, Colton's two brothers Pace and Collins, Marta, Kylie and so-on. While Colton and Sophie's peculiar relationship takes the main stage, there are other details sprinkled in to keep things fresh. I adored the relationships between Sophie and Becca and of course the bond that the Drake Brothers seem to share. I'm excited to get to know all of them. Overall, if you're looking for a steamy and enthralling romance that strays from the ordinary, Filthy Beautiful Lies is the perfect novel for you. Once again, Kendall Ryan keeps her readers on their toes and writes for the romantic in us, providing us love that is both sexy and smart.

Blog | Twitter | Instagram | "Call me crazy, but I have a rule about dating men who are married: I don't." Review also found here. Delectable and filthy in ways that grip tightly to the heart, Kendall Ryan's slowly seductive prose strikes all the right cords again and again with Filthy Beautiful Love. The (dazzling) conclusion to Sophie and Colton's love story is satisfying and enthralling. With all the events of the first book, Filthy Beautiful Lies, there are two hearts on the lines and a whole lot of questions. Deeply romantic and tantalizing in its seduction, hearts will soar and shatter throughout the course of this book. There are many things a reader should keep on hand whilst reading Filthy Beautiful Love but most of all, I recommend applying waterproof mascara to your lashes because the journey we take is so emotionally charged. Kendall Ryan is the biggest talent in her genre and I knew that this novel would be beautifully crafted with steam and human complexities, but nothing can prepare you for reading it. We already knew that Sophie and Colton's story was far from over. It just so happens that there is a big speed bump along their paths. Which is kind of ironic that their biggest cause of tension and heart-break isn't rooted in how they met, but in the fact that Colton is technically married still to his estranged wife, Stella. Filthy Beautiful Love picks up quickly where the previous book left off. Time has passed slightly. We finally are introduced on-screen to Sophie's beloved twin-sister, Becca. While the story is undoubtedly about Sophie and Colton, all roads lead back to Becca. In this sense, she is the center and the soul of their story. Everything revolved around the lengths that Sophie would go to, to pay for her sister's cancer treatments. I was positively charmed by their relationship and the little side-trip they took with one another to Rome. In a surprising turn of events, Colton and his brother Pace fly out to find Sophie. Colton has made it his biggest priority to explain the situation with Stella and to win her back. There is a lot of tension that comes in these moments but you just know that the way the talk to one another, their love is real and although it began in strange circumstances, it's as pure as it is fiery. I loved the buildup that Kendall Ryan toys with when it comes to how their physical relationship is continued to be explored. You'll remember correctly that Sophie is still a virgin. Colton's fondness has only grown for her and the way they interact with one another is stunning. I also love the way that Sophie grows to understand her desires and her body throughout this novel; Colton may be an Alpha male, but he is respectful and totally swoon-worthy. The next chunk of my review will contain spoilers. Proceed with caution. As for the emotional punches that come throughout, I have to say I wasn't expecting the way that the story of Becca's life ended. There's a scene that the two sister's share towards the middle of the book that foreshadowed that she would pass away at some point. I thought that Kendall Ryan handled it with care and portrayed the heavy loss that came with it beautifully. This is where the waterproof mascara must come in. I was caught off guard with how abruptly it all happened--this isn't a bad thing, it's very true to life. You just never know how long you have or what could be the cause of death. I'm entirely used to reading books that are heart-wrenching (after-all, I grew up reading Lurlene McDaniel books and training myself how not to cry in public while reading them) but the loss of Becca is heavy on Sophie and us. What Sophie feels and looses, we mirror. My favourite emotional part of the novel is not just within the romantic relationship between Colton and Sophie. It's in the letter that Becca leaves Sophie--and Sophie's raw emotions when coping with the loss: I love you without end. Don't you dare think for a second that that love is gone. Don't you dare mourn for me. Miss me. Every day, just as I will miss you. Then get on with living. Do it for me. Because I can't. I will be there in every starry night, in every whisper of breeze against your skin when you job, I'm in every package of Starbursts, smiling down at you when you eat the pink ones. OH, IT'S FINE, KENDALL. YOU ONLY JUST CRUSHED MY SOUL. As Sophie continues to struggle, Colton provides her with all the care he can give. Although their relationship had progressed quickly and deepened throughout the course of the book, the way he cares for her is that A-HA moment. You know they are meant to be from the start, but it really hits you around this time. "Baby?" I ask, approaching her with caution. Her head turns in my direction and she blinks several times. "I'm losing it, Colton." I kneel down on the deck in front of her and cup her face in my hands. "Losing what, sweetness?" "Everything. The sound of her voice..." I'm cutting that part off early because oh man, it hurts. You know it's a good book when every single emotion the leading characters feels cuts you. That's what reading a Kendall Ryan book feels like. It is everything--love, loss, strength and lust. Filthy Beautiful Love ends exactly how I hoped it would and I already miss Sophie and Colton dearly; their love story was as moving as it was explosive and I adored every moment of it. There were many surprises in the duration of the novel and a lot of nods to what is next in the series. I can't wait to continue forward with Pace and Collins' stories--who can say no to such a delicious set of brothers?
