Vi had to drive all the way to Portland to do any decent slaying, and even then she said the vamps were weird: They took their dogs every- where and chased victims down on pedal bikes, and half of them would only eat vegans.

Everyone walking around barely knowing how to read, so bored by all the farming that they were starting wars every five minutes.” He took out a cigarette, though he thankfully didn’t light it, just put it between his teeth. “And nobody remembers the dysentery.”
