I think it's unfair to end a book with a cliffhanger. And yes, it took me just two days to read it.

The addition of the demon to the story makes it substantially more enjoyable. While the story line was still a bit predictable, the characters developed much better now that the world was well established in the first book in the series. Even with some foreseeable plot points, the characters were funny and witty enough that the book was still a fun and light read.

this was just so much fun! I like Gwen more and more and the story is quite gripping!!

Man, did I hate the insta-love in this. It was so incredibly frustrating, but the book was so fun to read, that I mostly overlooked it. Gwen is so annoyingly lovestruck, but despite that, she is so headstrong and brave and pays no regards to rules, so I kinda sorta totally love her. Gideon was the type of character I am so used to, that nothing he did managed to surprise me, though that did not lessen my appreciation of him in any way. So any predictability and instant love aside, this was well written, and fast paced, and entertaining, and really, what more can you ask from this type of book, other than to be fun ride?

Oh!

3.5 stars I mean, this was an enjoyable read, but there were just some things that irked me the more the story went on. Still, I liked it :) The story didn't progress a whole lot, but I still wanna know how it continues and how it's gonna end. Hopefully this book just suffers of middle-book-syndrome and the next book will pick up the pace again. (view spoiler)[ However, I can't help but feel like the world-building is just kind of random? In the first book there's these things that are introduced like the time travellers, but now all of a sudden there's demons and magicians too? And I'd hoped we'd get at least a little more clarity on where exactly these prophecies came from. Hopefully in the last book... There's also a few other things, like Gideon flipping between despising and loving Gwen like almost every page, the totally unnecessary groping during the Soiree, the hate against women by almost all male characters in this book. Yes this book is for a younger audience, so I understand if some things aren't as deep, but that doesn't mean they have to be shallow. Xemerius I love though, more of him please! :-) (hide spoiler)]

loved every page

this book is off its rocker
