Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: the Last Ronin--Lost Years
Reviews

I wasn’t sure how I felt about the two different story lines taking place here. I thought The Lost Years would be solely Mikey’s journey leading up to the end battle with Hiroto in The Last Ronin. I knew this part would be dark, devastating and tragic. Mikey kept finding the good in people even when he was ready to give up and each time he paid a price. This pov took place in the past.
The pov present day came from April and her daughter Casey as they raise and train the new ninja turtles. I found some of this storyline to be a bit bland but I was relieved to see female ninja turtles finally done right. Ben Bishop did a really great job! I liked that the four new turtles all looked like individuals or different kinds of turtles because there are plenty of options to base creative ideas on. Sliding turtles, snapping turtles, box turtles, etc… I mean really there’s many to pull inspiration from and I believe Bishop did just that. Eastman, as always comes through with amazing artwork.
Overall I thought it was a solid graphic novel and I look forward to more.
