I really liked this book. I thought that the fact that Miller still retains a good relationship with her parents was amazing. This is a woman who routinely visits her parents home and cleans it for them, who threw out all her furniture after developing hives and thinking they were bedbug bites, who struggled to hide the state of the house she lived in all through her school years for fear she would get taken away from her parents. To still have a working relationship with them is a testament to the love they showed her as a child despite their difficulties.
