Kink Stories
Reviews

3.5 stories i liked: - safeword by R. O. Kwon - oh, youth by Brandon Taylor - impact play by Peter Mountford - reach by Roxane Gay - the voyeurs by Zeyn Joukhadar - emotional technologies by Chris Kraus overall i believed it excelled at what it set out to do - normalise kink and show how a lot of people, a lot of different people, feel about it and interact with kink. it explores the emotional psychological side of something that is most often approached with a certain detachment, coldness, if not even disgust when in fact it is a quite normal expression of feeling

I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review. I enjoyed this book pretty well. There are several stories that stand out amongst the others, but none that are awful. I find reading about others proclivities is an interesting way to view the psychology of what may drive people sexually and otherwise. I would definitely recommend Oh, Youth and The Lost Performance of the High Priestess of the Temple of horror. Thanks for allowing me to read and review this title!

Thank you NetGalley for a review copy. I enjoyed this book but I wish it had been more educational around consent and negotiation. I am glad that a mainstream publisher published Kink Stories but I wish it had been more from a different perspective.

The stories told in this book are all uniquely their own. I enjoyed each one as it open up discussion that I did not know I needed to have with myself. I think this is a good place to start for people exploring their kinks and the erase the stigma and the giggles we might hide behind when we bring vanilla sex. There are some stories that were stronger than others and stories that kept characters nameless to help the reader understand that kink can be for anyone to explore. The work did let me meet new authors that I will be stalking goodreads to find skim through their backlist which is always a plus, Needless to say when we can start safely dating this book will be required reading material for date night (jk but not really)
