An excellent book on the most worthwhile subject known to man. I listened to the audio book so I missed plenty here and there as I drove to and from work. But there is much in the book that warrants a second (and third, and fourth…) reading regardless of the method of reading. Packer has written a thorough study of what the scripture has to say about God, and has also presented a tremendous case for how we as Christians living in the 21st Century should live as adopted children of our Lord and Savior. The book has will likely convict the average Christian to engage more heavily into the Word of God to know the Father more intimately, and will also encourage the devout Christian with the piercing presentation that God is an endlessly loving and caring Father of His children. I highly recommend.

I highly recommend this book for Christians.
I grew up in a church that made it a priority for us to learn the Bible thoroughly, and I went to Bible college, but I've learned that we need to keep reminding ourselves. Who God is, who we are, what the Gospel is and how it affects our lives. And one great way to do that is read books like this. Even with all my prior knowledge, I got so much out of this book- deeper understanding and new ways of looking at biblical passages and different theological concepts. This book is rock solid and readable, and you should read it and be reminded too.
