The Forest Demands Its Due

This was a fun easy read, the lore and base of the story was entertaining and interesting. The main character was also likeable and there was a cute side romance too.

I did have a few issues and one of them was the writing. It lacked in depth for me while the story definitely had potential I just wasn’t pulled in and completely invested as I like to be when reading. The romance was cute but it was super unrealistic at times. It was rushed.

This book definitely has its strong points but I think it would’ve benefited from being longer and more fleshed out. I do also think this genre of horror / thriller is not completely my thing. 

The fact that Everett would happily sacrifice his sister without hesitant but would never sacrifice this guy he got close to a few days ago is so unbelievable. 

I also think that Douglas erasing himself from his mother’s memory was unnecessary and kind of awful. He was the only person she had and now she no one? She obviously doesn’t remember that but either way she’s alone.
