three stars “i’m in love with you, and i'm the lucky one here.” “you beat me to it.” “well, you can’t be first at everything. so one guy always tells me.” “the guy you love. i love you too.” i haven't read any of the ritchie sisters previous books, so i'm going in blind about the calloways, hales, colbats, meadows. but wow, it was so cute. the ending, farrow and moffy being all cute in front of security and moffy's cousins.

missing a star bc wtf was the core six doing at the end??? that is NOT my lo 🙁

It is an super lovely and easy read. I enjoyed it very much while traveling!

The main couple did not deserve this book and everything except them is just either weird or bad. I could go on a longer rant but it's really not worth it lol.

“I have a fucking duty not to reinforce harmful stereotypes: like bisexuals are over-sexual—that we all just fuck around and fuck a lot.” I wanted to enjoy the Like Us series so much. I read the entire Addicted series within 2 weeks and was full of love for every single book so I had high hopes for Damaged Like Us! Lily and Lo are my favorite couple, and when I found out there were books about their kid, I knew I was going to pick up this series. My main problem is the fact that some stories just aren't meant to be told. Krista and Becca Ritchie are two grown white women who thought it would be a good idea to write a smutty book about 2 gay men. This is so far out of their lane it's not even funny. Instead of Moffy and Farrow's story coming off as inclusive, it just seemed very fetishized. I hated reading every sex scene about Moffy and Farrow because I felt UNCOMFORTABLE. You could tell that 2 women were writing it. I would much rather see actual LGBT+ authors write romance books and smut for gay characters since it would at least feel more genuine. It didn't help the book either that I just did not enjoy Farrow as a character. I think Moffy had a lot of potential at the start of the book as an individual character but then it just felt like his entire character arc was being set up to revolve around other people. I really would have liked to see Moffy grow and develop a bit before entering a relationship but that's just on me loving slow burn. The only reason this doesn't get a 1 star or lower is solely for the (limited) core six scenes we got. Every scene they were in felt so perfect and it made me emotional seeing how much they have all grown, especially as parents, since the start of the Addicted series. If I do plan on continuing the Like Us series, it will only be for those couple of scenes with them.

4 Stars What a fantastic start to what is definitely going to be an incredible spinoff series!! I love the Calloway Sisters/ Addicted series, it's one my favorite new adult series and one I wish could've gone on forever because the characters ended up feeling more like friends you hang out with, rather than characters you read about. It was a great to get to see small glimpses of Lo, Lily, Connor, Rose, Ryke, and Daisy but I wish there was more of them because I miss those guys. I haven't felt the same connection with their kids (yet) but I really hope that at least a few of them get their own stories because I'm sure I would love the hell out of them all! Maximoff Hale's pov was a joy to read from. I love how fiercely protective he is of his family and the close friendships he has with his cousins. I adored the romance in Damaged Like Us, Moffy and Farrow were smoking hot together DAMN I fucking love them so much!! I really appreciate the approach they took because a lot of authors that write "forbidden romances" tend to over dramatize the heck of them and luckily that wasn't the case with this one. It's also awesome getting to see the behind scenes with Farrow and the other bodyguards, it's another element I really like about this spin-off and also a reason why this particular book stood out imo. I do think this could be read as an m/m standalone romance, but the reason I love most of these characters the way I do is because I've already gone on a journey with them and this feels like an extension to that, so it's hard to say... anyways great start I'm dying to read more!!! :)

"the archer" by taylor swift (moffy's song) i love marrow so much! their love is so pure OMG MOFFY IS LITERALLY THE BEST BOI LIKE HE LOVES AND CARES SO MUCH! moffy is truly lily and lo's son! omg i love seeing core six and how much love the families have for each other especially the hale family! this could've been five stars but the ending conflict...

One word: shook. I'm unironically, totally and unmistakably shook. It was my first M/M novel and I have to admit I was blown away, even though there's something that's been sitting wrong on me ever since I read what it was (view spoiler)[ a.ka., the Jane/Moffy suspicion (hide spoiler)], but it may have because I was used to be on the other side of that pov. Can't wait for book two

Going back to the addicted world feels like coming home. I dont know how to explain it but I love this world so much and Farrow and Moffy are adorable.

4.5/5

6.5/10 really It was cool seeing core squad back again but I would like to say I was really upset they felt jane and moffy crossed a line....it doesn't make any sense projecting your past unto your kids like that Yes they are meant to learn from your mistakes , it doesn't mean they will make the exact same mistakes ....anyway I'm happy Moffy got his wish in the end

moffy my best boy
farrow best doctor or almost doctor out there

I hate to say it but I expected a lot better from this. In general, the book just felt weird. I think one of KB's stregths have always been that they've known how to developed great characters with their own personatilies and also write romance that also had really strong friendships and family dynamics but for some reason all those things are missing here and that makes me really sad. (view spoiler)[ My main three issues with the book: I'm soooo over the whole ryke/lily - ryke being moffy's dad thing, we already read that, in more than one book. I'm over it. And I hate that this conflict was used to shape Moffy's entire personality. Second, Moffy's Farrow and Moffy's relationship felt rushed, what did they had in common besides the sexual attraction? where was the connection and the emotion? i just didn't felt it And last, that damn incest storyline in itself was just... no but then the parents reaction? completely ridiculous. (hide spoiler)] This doesn't mean I won't continue the series, because I will, I still love the twins, but I do wish they had chosen to make this a series of standalones like Aerial Ethereal instead of dragging out unnecessary drama.

“We’re like lightning and thunder, inherently different but alike enough to share the same sky.”

This book was so good !! The relationship development was so good. The way Krista and Becca can write a beautiful love story (the first of many) is beyond me honestly. The story of Moffy and Farrow is one of my fave ones. The longing and the yearning between these two oh it was just so good. The car scene damn I was sweating! The way Moffy is so protective of his siblings and his cousins oh I love him Lilo raised him so well 😭😭😭 Also seeing my faves’ kids altogether today grown up oh it makes me so emotional. - Oh the fact we saw the core six again too I cried my little eyes out. So excited for the rest of the books !!! “Where I go rogue, he stays loyal.”

4.5 ★

*1.5 stars* wow I was so excited for this series after addicted but damn I am so disappointed

It's a comfort book and I love them

2'5/5

(Edit after reading Damaged, Lovers, Alphas and Headstrong Like Us) *no spoilers for any of the books listed above* So when I first went into this I didn't really know how to feel about it because I was familiar with the authors' writing style and the fact that this would be the first depiction of an lgbtq relationship in the addicted universe and I'm always a bit apprehensive when it comes to potential fetishization of a mlm relationship and well... It did feel a little bit like it I like the development of the relationship itself, I do that Moffy and Farrow are a good match even if it did feel a bit insta-lovey at rhe beginning. I think their pairing makes a lot of sense but I found myself skimming through their some scenes just in case they said something relevant to the plot because I felt kind of uncomfortable. I enjoyed their story and their dynamic. I think they are really cute together but I am not going to ignore the problematic elements of the series

i was in such a big denial after finishing the addicted series, that i had no other choice basically than to start the like us series. and damn, i was prepared for a disappointment. but nopppe, still great. this universe is so complex, so real, vibrant and vibing, you can't not love it, and i got sucked in and i dread the time when i have to say goodbye again. and also: jane cobalt!!!!!

FUCKKKKK this so damn good. I love the relationship, family dynamics and writing style. I adore Moffy and Jane's friendship, I also hope we get to see more of Charlie. It was described that Charlie is exactly like Connor in Some Kind Of Perfect and you know how much I love narcissistic men. Also at the end Charlie was one of those who never doubted Jane and Moffy. I hope this is the new beginning of friendship between Charlie and Moffy. Running off to next book.
Highlights

“When I look back at Maximoff, he asks me, “If those pictures had been me and you, what do you think the title would’ve been?” I start to smile. And I tell him the first thing that comes to me. “Lovers Like Us.”
I’d sure hope so.

“She skims the tabloid before pushing the pages to her chest. “Have you two seen the new Like Us article?” “No,” we say together. “Guess the title,” Jane says. Maximoff glares out at the water. “Enraged Like Us.” “I think you mean Strange Like Us,” I tease. Jane nearly smiles, which makes Maximoff’s shoulder slacken, and then she flashes the tabloid. Damaged Like Us.
Yeesh.

My nickname for Maximoff fits him better than he realizes. He’s aggressive, short-tempered and insanely protective of his pack. Like a wolf. Then he’s resourceful, resilient, reliant and responsible. Able to survive any situation.
Well Moffy is being compared to a wolf just like Ryke.

A Tumblr user made a gif from the footage when the court suspended Moffy’s license. In the gif: Maximoff and I push through the courthouse doors, exiting with sunglasses, side-by-side, cameras flashing repeatedly.
We look hot together.
Duh, that's because y'all are cute.

“My brother likes your decorations,” Quinn tells her. “He calls it Retro Granny Realness.”
Janie beams.
“I think it’s hella fucking cute,” Sulli tells her.
“Thank you, Sullivan,” Janie replies. “Will you be my new bodyguard?”
“Of course, I’ll protect you to the fucking death.”
“And follow me around everywhere I go?”
“Everywhere.”
“Heyheyhey,” Quinn cuts in, extending his arm towards Sulli. “Don’t take my job. It’s not for sale.”
Jane beams harder. Her last, retired bodyguard never voiced his enjoyment of being on her detail.
They're not their parents, sure, but I do love their banter.

“You tell me, Moffy,” Ryke says. “You’re the one who’s been dyeing your fucking hair for a year.” The room quiets. And he leans forward, forearms on his legs, to be closer to me. “What did I do? Just let me know, and we can fucking fix this.”
Ryke :/
