Unforgotten

This one lost the narrative flow that I've loved about the other books. The characters seem a bit aimless in this one. The relationship between Rese and Lance feels not quite right. It's far from the compelling love story of Lance's great, great grandparents Quillian and Carina. Even the brief glimpses of Nonna Antonia's love story with Marco feel more real and relatable than Rese and Lance. Then at the end the book takes a weird turn with Lance's sudden obsession with revenge. It just doesn't make any sense at all. That turn left me feeling rather apathetic about the whole book and frankly disappointed. What Heitzmann had in the Rose Legacy series she seems to have forgotten all about in this follow-up series, unfortunately.
