The Trouble with Witches

October vibes for me means reading cute books about Witches. I’ve actually had this one awhile, but saved it for now. Em wants a fresh start away from the drama and chaos her con artist mother has wreaked throughout her life. She figures finding her great Aunt Amelia in a town called Shadowvale might be a chance for a fresh start. Little does she know that her Aunt’s town (literally her town) is a haven for magical and non magical cursed beings, or that ‘Em is from a long line of powerful witches. Her Aunt doesn’t want to saddle Em with the burdens that she herself must bear to keep the town and its residents protected so she enlists Shadowvales Peacekeeper Deacon to try to persuade her that it’s not the kind of place to stay. Deacon wants to leave as well, more to protect his little sister whose curse makes it impossible to have a normal life. Amelia will make it happen if he succeeds. Too bad that fate has other plans. 💙
